I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Today's lunch is zucchini frittata, part 2 of 4. Tomorrow we are doing a salad bar potluck for our department meeting, so I've got lunches for the week covered.

Art Crawl!!!

Baby rock hyraxes. So cute.

Plus, the story about the five capybaras born in Berlin makes me wonder if eohippus had multiple births rather than singletons. (Because I think that the representations of early horses look alot like capybaras.)

Person, if I ask you to do a thing and you don't do the thing, then I can't have an update for you on the thing because of the thing you did not do.

Unless you were trying to get me to do the thing for you, in which case, bravo.

Just discovered an adult woman with the name Merica. Like America without the A. Who names their kid that?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Who names their kid that?

Someone who hates America, obviously! t rimshot

ION, let me just say: getting a migraine on top of a cold is almost the exact literal definition of adding insult to injury. Boo. My head hurts in so many ways now. And I have no voice.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Going out to dinner tonight with Gary's mom to celebrate our anniversary.

I am a silly person, but -- I just printed out good feedback from my boss on an edited manuscript (just 1 page, where she wrote "NICE!" [the ASSCAPS and exclamation point are hers] next to a particularly tricky passage).

I am going to hang it on the fridge. Tim said he thinks he has gold stars somewhere to stick on it. (If he *does* have gold stars, I don't understand why I haven't been getting them all along. Bake scones? Gold star! Leave you the last scone because I know you love them? Gold star! Not kill your father on vacation? HUGE GOLD STAR, baby.)

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

In term of eating the same thing. I eat basically the same thing for breakfast every day - greens with chicken, cheese and "fixings" (chopped celery, radish, carrot & green onion). Dressing: cider vinegar and eggless mayo sweetened with splenda, and spiced with garlic and black pepper. Greens are either carrot greens & beet greens I get for free or spinach when I have to buy greens.

Lunch alternates between a pudding made with peanut butter & plain nonfat greek yogurt sweeted with splenda with an apple for desert or plain non-fat yogurt with chopped apple and peanuts again sweeted with peanuts. So essentially the same lunch with alternating textures.

Dinner varies.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hell, we do that at the office. Though now I think we need some gold stars.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ow Steph, it does seem unfair of the universe to pile it on that way. {Edited to add that was in response to migraine on top of sickness}

So many onerous tasks lately. Moving boxes, gluing chests of drawers, stripping rust from metal, looking for a reliable body shop to bring the car, back-to-school onerosity (yes, it's its own category). I'm not even including the visit to the lawyer to take care of the estate because that was just fine. I am ready for pleasant and deeply satisfying task day. When is it?
