"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

This morning, I had an anxiety dream about my new job. Then I got a call from the company I interviewed with in December. They're the ones who didn't respond to my follow-up email until April or May. This woman had been given my name by the person I originally interviewed with, and they had another position, and did I have time to talk?

I said, "Sorry, I'm starting a new job on Monday." I did not say, "Maybe if you'd called sooner than six months later, I would have been available."

Congrats Teppy and Debet! And Dana, that's the best way to be able to respond!

Allyson, you can also check Smart Bitches Trashy Books--they've got great helpful reviews.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I can essentially end up about $5 richer than I started after buying a bunch of it, so I'm getting it and donating it.

If you itemize your tax deductions, you may be able to gain a little bit more after the first of the year.

Pumpkin probably needs a tooth out and Loki definitely needs a cleaning, if not a tooth out too. Bah. Next week, if their blood work comes out good.

Punishingly Intricate

lisah! When you thought you were going to need to reglaze your new-to-you-tub, did you have a goto outfit?

We didn't but I know someone else who had it done recently and I can get a rec from them.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Congrats to Steph and to Doctor Otter!

In unrelated news, there was a bear on my work campus. Not on my side of the campus, but still, a bear.

As funny as Colbert is WRT to bears, I think my first instinct is always going to be, "You made a bear! UNDO IT! UNDO IT!"

Yes.

So today can be looked at two ways. 1) I spent the afternoon in the sunshine, warm breeze in my hair, exploring a nearby city and came home with money in my wallet. Or 2) Had to have CJ's car towed from the first mechanic to another mechanic who specializes in electrial systems. Followed the tow truck to the shop which was a good 40 minutes away. After talking with the mechanic we started to drive home. About 1/3 of the way home, he called to say it would be a fairly easy fix and it would be ready in an hour, so we decide to have lunch nearby and not go home. Ended up being over two hours and then rush hour traffic driving home. BUT the fix was only $80 bucks.
