lisah! When you thought you were going to need to reglaze your new-to-you-tub, did you have a goto outfit?
We didn't but I know someone else who had it done recently and I can get a rec from them.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Timelies all!
Congrats to Steph and to Doctor Otter!
In unrelated news, there was a bear on my work campus. Not on my side of the campus, but still, a bear.
As funny as Colbert is WRT to bears, I think my first instinct is always going to be, "You made a bear! UNDO IT! UNDO IT!"
Back to Normal Heart-- I was all worried about Bomer, and now I'm wishing I had HBO.

Yes.
So today can be looked at two ways. 1) I spent the afternoon in the sunshine, warm breeze in my hair, exploring a nearby city and came home with money in my wallet. Or 2) Had to have CJ's car towed from the first mechanic to another mechanic who specializes in electrial systems. Followed the tow truck to the shop which was a good 40 minutes away. After talking with the mechanic we started to drive home. About 1/3 of the way home, he called to say it would be a fairly easy fix and it would be ready in an hour, so we decide to have lunch nearby and not go home. Ended up being over two hours and then rush hour traffic driving home. BUT the fix was only $80 bucks.
Oy, Suzi.
Congrats to Doc Ot and Steph!
And smonster, much ~ma in your friend's direction.
That sounds pretty good either way, Suzi! And yay for a fixed car!

Always used in bear related (not gay bears, though, that would be rude) situations. Used in many others, too. No one gets it on person, thank dog for the internet.
Allyson, I hope your friend doesn't have time to read many books.

Very worth watching--lots of good performances all round, including Kitsch.
Seasonal got a full time job near her family. They hired her even before I returned my reference phonecall, which was a relief because I'd really like for her to be gainfully employed elsewhere; I don't wish for unemployment even upon the dumbest of schmucks, and I'd like to move on from her and paying her.
Set up my intern and the ED to discuss full time employment. He'd asked me to ask her what her asking wage was and I told him I didn't feel comfortable doing that, especially since I'm not the head of the department and knowing wages isn't in my purview. I also don't want to know if what she needs to make to pay off her college loans is more than I make. I might cry (and am glad again that at least my three years in hell paid for my undergrad degree and I never had to deal with student loans).
Fingers crossed that I get an awesome coworker. I don't know if she's been shopping around, although she's smart and most probably has. Don't go!!!
I'm still pleased as punch that her hard-assed professor was impressed with what she was doing with me at the arboretum, and the variety of work she was doing and the responsibility I was giving her. I was kind of terrified that I was abusing her unpaid internship status with too much work. We've still got some admin nonsense to do, and some offsite networking/fieldtrips, which will be fun, but I'll have to carefully schedule that in the few weeks remaining.
I'm also really impressed that this professor is really hard on me and making sure that this internship is an actual internship, and not just letting the both of us bullshit him to make our lives easier, and that it really is benefiting the intern. Because that's the whole point of being unpaid.
Fingers crossed.
That sounds pretty good either way, Suzi!
Big picture, yep. But taking over 3 hours away from work, including missing a project review call...frustrating. No one has yelled at me and I'm trying to catch up on as much as I can now.
Oh, it is a beautiful day today. Clear skies, top down on the Mustang, and time with my son. Oh, and a nice sunburn cause I forgot I have sunscreen in the back seat. Dur.
