I have jury duty tomorrow. I can't tell you how unamused I am. I've the misfortune of apparently being in the broken part of the city jury pool in that I'm a frequent flier. Figured out this is my 3rd summons in 5 years, second reporting. They did a revamp of the pool system about that time, before that, once I got my first, every damn year.

I think it is still broken.

I'm sorry, ita.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, is that allowed? We're off for some years after serving.

You're good for a year (I think?) IF you get seated on a jury. Otherwise, one day, back into the lottery.

Dag, that's rough. Oh! But that's why "one day/one trial" is what they say -- you get full credit even if you don't get seated.

brillig

It's 74 degrees F and 53% humidity. Perfect weather.

And I went "gack! That's so humid!" That's the difference with a desert.

The thing is, my neighbor A has been called once in the same amount or more of city residency. B has NEVER been called and he's been Bmore 30+ years and this address 20.

It's still broken and I'm in the broken loop.

It's 72 and 56% here and so all my windows are open and exhaust fan on. Been on since it dipped below 80. I'm actually feeling chilly, with a throw over my legs. And this summer has been MILD.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I got called for Oregon jury duty once. After I'd moved back to California.

I'm sorry, ita. Sucks and blows.

(For the record, Pete would not. At all.)

He's smart.

I'll totally sign your permission slip for that though. Flamethrower that you can rock out with? In!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Huh.Since I moved to Maryland I have been called to jury duty once, about 15 years ago, and haven't been called since. Granted, I'm in a different county than you, sara...

Yeah my mother gets called like every 5 years, and my father maybe got called once.
