"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I am a reasonably functional human being who can do this.

You can totally do this. And you have a lot of support here. Even if you just want to come over, ring our doorbell, trudge upstairs, watch Winter Soldier while we feed you and hand you cold cocktails and then drive you home.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Also, scenic landscapes on my new tv? Kinda amazing. Imma gonna appreciate PBS so much more. Technology improves in 20 years, doncha know?

I think my 19 year old TV may not last much longer. I think the brightness has been fading lately.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Not sure if it's worthwhile, but you might consider finding a sublet to arrive here. I'd at least check Craigslist because it is summer after all.

FWIW, this is exactly what I did when I moved from NJ to VA. I sublet a townhouse off Craigslist for 6 months. The person listing it was a realtor, and my niece scouted the area, so that added confidence that I wasn't getting a craphole. I ended up buying the place, so it worked out well!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I went over to Anna's at 9:15 to say goodnight. All of a sudden it's 12:15, I'm happy and I have the sense memory of her lips against mine.

Eta: not sense memory. What do you call it when your lips still feel the sensation of kissing?

Also what I did when I moved to Seattle--Plei checked for me and it was some girl who was traveling for her job for six weeks. I flew out with a few suitcases and my stuff came eventually and was put in storage until I found my actual apartment (where I lived for over two years)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, goodness. DH's high school reunion recently happened, I guess - some of his classmates just sought me out on facebook to let me know they are making a donation in his memory. People can be awfully sweet.

I'm gonna go with afterglow, tommyrot. So good to see your happy posts!

Unfortunately I have work to do now, because I really want to finish the post production work on my photos from Pride yesterday so I can post then online.

Last night I went through the photos with Anna and we debated various ways of cropping some of the photos. She has a very good eye for interesting people. She also loved my photos and wants prints of four of them--she wants to hang some on her walls.
