Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My living room has a ceiling fan, and the motion of the fan keeps jiggling the light bulbs out of place. I tried to get them back in, but they keep just barely making contact and lighting for a second, then going dark again.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Waking to Vince Guaraldi is an excellent morning! I woke to wishing I was either still asleep or that I hadn't been awakened last night. oh well. There will be coffee soon.

How do Hazel's eyes look, Jesse? Do you suspect it's hairballs?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Her eyes seem fine? I don't think it's hairballs, but what do I actually know? She's not shedding much.

Yeah, okay, I am not helpful, am I? Sorry. When my cats have been sick, they're eyes looked sick, but maybe I"m a bad mom who waits too long before taking her pets to the vet.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Got out early for a run in the hills: was punished for my virtue by getting bit by a nasty stinging fly: it hurt like the dickens when it stung, and 90 minutes later, it still hurts and I've got a welt about 2 inches across. Doesn't help that it stung me under my arm/on the edge of my boob. OUCH, dammit.

Also, Dad called complaining that he was lonely, misses "my best friend". Which is both sweet and makes me sad, because I hope he doesn't call me that when my sister's around. She sees him just as much as I do.

So instead of cooking up some kale and eggs for breakfast, I ate only one piece of the leftover clafouti (NOM) and after my haircut, I will take Dad out for lunch. It's getting so hard to find a place that is quiet enough for him and has food good enough for me...

Oh, hey, did you guys hear about this?

I'm so impressed. This woman is my new hero, and I bet ita would have been all over this story. So great.

The shitty thing is that she was arrested for it, and then the State of SC had a black worker run the fucking thing back up the flagpole. Seriously.

meara - Jun 27, 2015 7:49:17 am PDT #29795 of 30000

I did see that. Seriously shitty. Also, I gotta wonder if no one thought of the optics on that putting it back up. You couldn't at least find a white dude?

Welcome back, Cindy! Lovely to see you here!

There was just some sort of march down Main Street here, then a two-car crash into a streetlamp. First time I've ever called 911.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

So Hazel's been puking up a little liquid every couple of days. Worth calling the vet over?

I'd say yes. There are lots of non-serious things that can make a cat throw up - but generally there's something in the result - hairball, or the food they ate too fast, or plant matter - to give a clue about why. There are lots of more serious things that will cause a cat to throw up, none of which get easier or cheaper to treat if you wait.
