Natter 73: Chuck Norris only wishes he could Natter
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Oh, hey, did you guys hear about this?

I'm so impressed. This woman is my new hero, and I bet ita would have been all over this story. So great.
The shitty thing is that she was arrested for it, and then the State of SC had a black worker run the fucking thing back up the flagpole. Seriously.
I did see that. Seriously shitty. Also, I gotta wonder if no one thought of the optics on that putting it back up. You couldn't at least find a white dude?
Welcome back, Cindy! Lovely to see you here!
There was just some sort of march down Main Street here, then a two-car crash into a streetlamp. First time I've ever called 911.
So Hazel's been puking up a little liquid every couple of days. Worth calling the vet over?
I'd say yes. There are lots of non-serious things that can make a cat throw up - but generally there's something in the result - hairball, or the food they ate too fast, or plant matter - to give a clue about why. There are lots of more serious things that will cause a cat to throw up, none of which get easier or cheaper to treat if you wait.
I will say, she was a known puker before I got her, but the records sounded like she was throwing up her food due to eating too fast, and that doesn't sound like this. I'll call and see if I can get an appointment this week, I guess.
Yeah, okay, I am not helpful, am I? Sorry. When my cats have been sick, they're eyes looked sick, but maybe I"m a bad mom who waits too long before taking her pets to the vet.
No, that was helpful!
D used to puke all the time - sometimes from gulping his food, but other times because he was upset or mad or just being difficult.
The big thing is, to look for changes - changes in appearance, changes in patterns of behavior. A cat who frequently throws up food, isn't throwing up food anymore but is throwing up bile - that's a significant change. It means
something.
What it means, maybe is a good thing, maybe isn't a good thing. The veterinarian can help figure it out.
Oh yes, feline stress puking. In addition to having to deal with the mess, you have to deal with their stress. Which, you know, adds to yours.
But I'm sorry Hazel's feeling pukey, Jesse. I hope you find out it's something minor and easy to treat. And I second all the "yes, vet" nods.
Finn got a sour stomach from the stress after I brought Eddie home. The big problem was that he wasn't eating because of the upset tummy, which can cause issues for cats. The vet gave him an antacid and (I think?) an appetite stimulant.
Is Hazel eating?
Finally caught up and have to add my whoohoos to both the ACA and SSM coming out on the winning (our) side in one week. I want to hug them all (except Scalia.) I'll take reasoned dissent, and thank the person for it, over fucknuts raving, any day. Plus, thanks for the link to POTUS singing Amazing Grace; I ♥ that man and his wonderfully expressed compassion for all.
Also, Hi, Cindy! Nice to see you adding to the gladful rejoicing here. I've always enjoyed the way you express yourself.
