Punishingly Intricate

Cindy!!! How happy that today's happy news brought you here. So lovely!

My 7-year old niece is spending the weekend with us and oof I'm already exhausted, even though we spent all afternoon at my friend's house where my niece played with her 5 year old while I lounged in a hammock chair. Hope I survive the weekend!

My friend Julie, who used to post here a dog's age ago, but hasn't since, first lured me to b.org, by linking me to your work-rant posts.

I did not know that! It's definitely more sweet than creepy. It's also weirdly relevant, because I've spent the last couple of years in a customer service role after a reorg put me there. Customer service. What were they thinking? Nobody knows.

I'm transferring to the Bay Area this summer and taking a job where I get to pick up the hammer of justice again. So that's happening.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, Cindy, it is so very good to see your lovely pixels!

I am whupped from a week of work and emotional whipsawing, pinned beneath a child, and only about 83% sober, and so I won't allow myself to babble about the Big Questions until I'm at least back to 90%, but then oh how I shall babble.

Lisah,I always describe the tenor of my parents' phone calls from the start of the nephs visit to the end thusly: 'omg, so much energy, gotta collapse ' to when they leave:'So quiet, at odd ends.'

Finally watched Obama's eulogy in full. THAT was the man I called my parents to watch @ the DNC. And then hung up.That was the guy I voted for and went to Inuaguration with Taylor and cried....Sigh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Finally watched Obama's eulogy in full. THAT was the man I called my parents to watch @ the DNC. And then hung up.That was the guy I voted for and went to Inuaguration with Taylor and cried....Sigh.

I'm watching it now. I'm not crying. I'm not. If he's gonna sing my favorite hymn, though, I'm gonna cry.

Cindy, it's really good to see you! Thank you for making me feel like I was part of doing something good for you.

Always Anti-fascist!

As to whether Scalia is demented, gonna borrow from Dorothy Parker and say "How could we tell?" I've blocked most of my bigot relatives.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That was the guy I voted for

That's what I said to DH too. He's had a few speeches like that, that just resonate so forcefully with the moment and with what needs to be said.

Cindy, how lovely to see your pixels here! And so great that you came to share good news with us today.

I got to tell my climbing partner about the Supreme Court decision this evening: she'd been head down in code all day, and hadn't seen the news. That was nice.

I need to go watch the President's eulogy, but I'm afraid I'll cry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You know how Facebook will suggest weird and/or inappropriate friends for you sometimes? It just suggested a guy I used to date, and not that I want to be FB friends with him, but I'm glad to see he moved to New York! So now I don't have to think about it. Not that I think about him a lot, but every once in a while.

Mnahrg. Rolled out of bed with just 30 minutes to spare. Market in drippy, drippy rain, now applying coffee and then errands and swim shoehorned in early before storms.

Coffee hasn't started working yet. My 4 am first wake didn't help.
