Lisah,I always describe the tenor of my parents' phone calls from the start of the nephs visit to the end thusly: 'omg, so much energy, gotta collapse ' to when they leave:'So quiet, at odd ends.'
Finally watched Obama's eulogy in full. THAT was the man I called my parents to watch @ the DNC. And then hung up.That was the guy I voted for and went to Inuaguration with Taylor and cried....Sigh.

I'm watching it now. I'm not crying. I'm not. If he's gonna sing my favorite hymn, though, I'm gonna cry.
Cindy, it's really good to see you! Thank you for making me feel like I was part of doing something good for you.
As to whether Scalia is demented, gonna borrow from Dorothy Parker and say "How could we tell?"
I've blocked most of my bigot relatives.
That was the guy I voted for
That's what I said to DH too. He's had a few speeches like that, that just resonate so forcefully with the moment and with what needs to be said.
Cindy, how lovely to see your pixels here! And so great that you came to share good news with us today.
I got to tell my climbing partner about the Supreme Court decision this evening: she'd been head down in code all day, and hadn't seen the news. That was nice.
I need to go watch the President's eulogy, but I'm afraid I'll cry.
You know how Facebook will suggest weird and/or inappropriate friends for you sometimes? It just suggested a guy I used to date, and not that I want to be FB friends with him, but I'm glad to see he moved to New York! So now I don't have to think about it. Not that I think about him a lot, but every once in a while.
Mnahrg. Rolled out of bed with just 30 minutes to spare. Market in drippy, drippy rain, now applying coffee and then errands and swim shoehorned in early before storms.
Coffee hasn't started working yet. My 4 am first wake didn't help.
Timelies all!
Quiet(and wet) weekend here. No plans beyond getting food.
I was able to fit in cat walking and the farmers market before today's forecast thunderstorms. For the first time in two weeks it's not supposed to go over 90F! I'm gonna open the windows, at least on the leeward side. And there were sungold tomatoes at market--yum.
So Hazel's been puking up a little liquid every couple of days. Worth calling the vet over?
