Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Good Lord, Talons of Weng Chang is a 3-disc set. Look at all the yummy extras from the BBC.

Oh yes, that one got a special edition, they're well worth it. (Plus, I appreciated the special on the Chinese population in 19th century London; the only real black mark on Talons is the racism. The extra doesn't change that, but by providing the depth lacking in the adventure, it does obliquely acknowledge it.) There are superb extras on some of the classic adventure releases. (Some of the extras on The Ark in Space are hilarious. One of which relates to the production of Talons, as it happens.)

I love Ace so much. I know people diss Happiness Patrol, but I love the use of music in it. I love Sylvester McCoy's Doctor and his love of music (another wonderful part of Silver Nemesis).

I thought the Seventh Doctor was excellent, especially paired with Ace. The Happiness Patrol is one of my favourites. It's all very pantomime in style, but surprisingly sharp underneath. It feels very similar to Paradise Towers from the previous season, but I think it works much better.

I like the father/daughter vibe as opposed to the sort-of-romantic vibe. Unless Captain Jack is involved.

Youngest nephew rode a bike without training wheels for the first time, convinced to try after grandpa had him help fix the tire that had a blowout( they had to take the training wheels off to do so.) Go, grandpa-fu! My parents have enjoyed the first few days of their near month with the boys. Love.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, that's great!

Have not accomplished anything today. I am okay with that. I am even okay with that setting the tone for the week.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My nephew got his learner's permit. He's driving! Meep!

information libertarian

Well, mr. flea just literally carried Dillo down the street to get him to go to camp, where we are sending him despite keeping Casper home, because she's still sick (though on the upswing.) He sat around watching videos all weekend and much of Thursday and Friday too; he needs physical activity and contact with other people; we did the right thing in making him go. But I feel beaten down. Need to shake it off because I have a ton to do today.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yesterday started out great, I'd gotten enough sleep that I felt find for Uber driving, had some really good runs that brought me to my self-set week's goal, AND I had a good book to entertain me between calls. I even caught a return fare from East Boston, so I could pocket the toll charge.

Then I went home, had an excellent lunch, settled into the book, and my IBS kicked up worse than it has in possibly months -- cold sweat was involved.

Just as I was getting over that, a long-time friend called because her car had broken down, and she had her dogs with her and needed a ride home after the wrecker truck arrived. As she was sitting in a hot car by the side of the road, I thought it was enough of an emergency to justify driving a half-hour to take her and the dogs home after the wrecker arrived.

Except that it didn't -- even with us calling every half-hour to remind AAA that we were still waiting. Evidently the dispatch calls were being sent to the wrong location and the database that tracked this stuff WASN'T updated. TWICE, we were told that there was a flat-bed "on site" and had to patiently explain that we were sitting right on site and it wasn't.

In all, it took my friend nearly 5.5 hours until the wrecker arrived, and I was there for like 4 of it, keeping her from melting down or having an ER-worthy asthma attack, as well as the dogs cool and hydrated. And then I had to drive her a half-hour to her home, and then another half-hour back home myself. (At least by then it was 11:30PM on a very rainy Sunday night and mostly highway.)

Today I mostly want to hunt down some AAA dispatchers and hit them all upside the side of their heads.

Oh, man, Theo, how awful! How lucky for her to have you.

Heart rate monitor sensors should come equipped with tracking devices.
