I dropped off a clothing donation without running into a street festival, go team. Then I walked to the beach and got some exercise before buying all the fresh produce at the grocery store. I got carded for the wine. I'm going to jump in the shower because I'm a sweaty mess and then I'll pick a TV show to catch up on.

That dress is super cute, Steph!

I will also be going to a wedding, albeit in August. All the clothing direction I have is "3:00 pm wedding with an evening reception, open bar." Delightful as that last bit sounds, it seems a bit all over the map, formality-wise. What do you all think of this with a ruffly black shrug and strappy black sandals? [link] I have enough sewing skills to keep it from getting too cleavalicious.

Indoor or outdoor wedding/reception?

Indoor wedding, probably indoor with outdoor space for the reception. It's in MI, and the church will probably be inadequately ACed and the reception will probably get a tad chilly.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Calli, I think that's lovely and will fit in just fine.

We are having a thunderstorm and I am thinking of napping.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Calli, that seems very appropriate for what you describe.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, I like that dress! That sounds like the kind of wedding where people will be wearing anything from day to evening, so it looks perfect.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

That is my favorite dress- it is practically all I wear, and it can be dressed up or down really well.

Thanks, y'all. It's my nephew's wedding, and I'd like my sister to be happy (the nephew couldn't care less what I wear, I'm sure). The bridesmaids will be in purple. I'm looking forward to the whole shindig.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Land's End fit and flare dresses are great; they look good on just about everybody.

I have done just about everything I wanted to, today. I lazed around all morning after banana pecan pancakes until my conscience said get the fuck out of the comfy chair. So, I did. I stopped at Christopher & Banks to try to find some capris I liked, but they only had the classic fit which is way to tight in the thighs for me and then a two inch (or more) gap in the waist. Sigh. I should know better. I still walked away with two cute tops, with a skirt and a shrug on order from their online store. That led to the comic shop to pick up pulls and return a Buffy toy that wasn't what I expected. Traded a Willow in for Vampire Buffy, so I'm happy. It will go with the rest of my fandom stuff on display at work. From there, finally got the battery in my watch replaced, only now I have to wear it on the wrong wrist, because my Fitbit is where I'd usually put the watch. It feels wrong. And then I hit up Charming Charlies to replenish my stash of cute, but extremely cheap earrings, plus a couple of sunhats for lunchtime walks at work. Also picked up way too much candy at a kiosk touting "Fine European and Continental Confectionaries". Basically, all Haribo soft candies (Swedish fish, gummy bears, etc.) Still ended up with a pounds worth, though. Then, I called it quits. I was going to do grocery shopping, but me feet hurt and I was tired of dodging rainstorms between stores. I am now listening to the dishwasher and thinking after I eat some leftover spaghetti I will get up and make some cobbler to use up the nectarines that are going to rot if I don't do something with them quick.
