Got in a good hour or so of weeding in. It is not as hot today as I had feared it would be, but I just heard thunder so I'm coming inside for a bit.

My neighbor was out raking up leaves(oh these damn trees) when I got back from running errands and I'm trying not to feel guilty for not being out there helping, but is really needed to put food in me and swap out the laundry. And it's the kind if humid out there where it is fine as long as you don't move...

It's a lot cooler today, which is nice because I have a cake in the oven. Betsy HP's Indiana Pound Cake, for anyone keeping score. (Dead easy and very tasty: 2 sticks butter, creamed with 2 cups sugar. Add 5 eggs. Then 2 cups flour, 1 tsp each vanilla & almond extract. Bake @325 for an hour.)
OK, cake in oven, now I need to shred things, and take on the bathroom cabinet.

I baked two loaves of zucchini bread this morning! And despite getting a chunk of zucchini in the eye, and snorting a hunk of walnut, I am happily noshing on a slice, and drinking delicious iced black/Passion tea.

Heh. My couch is now cleaner than it's been since I got cats, but also still not clean. (I'm chucking one of the side pillows as too ragged and stained to use any longer. Whenever I buy new ones, they will have plastic-y synthetic covers that I can clean by shaking.)
They are clearly winning the war to mess up the floors faster than I can clean them.
