So, how was your summer? Mine was fun. Saw some fish. Went mad with hunger. Hallucinated a whole bunch.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I am all tired and groggy from being woken up at 3:30 this morning by the unmistakeable sound of a critter in the attic above the bedroom. My assumption is that if it's loud enough to wake me up, it's bigger than a mouse. So I woke Tim up and he went upstairs to bait a (humane) trap. I stayed up for moral support. We were only up for about half an hour, so I don't know why I'm so damn tired.

And I need to head off to the BMV, because I'm due for a new driver's license. Ordinarily I use the AWESOME option of renewing my tags via the mail, but that's not an option for the driver's license. Meh.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Huh. I'd never heard of "BMV" before so I had to google to see what it stood for. (Bureau of Motor Vehicles.)

Who would win in a fight? the DMV or the BMV?

FCM: BMV, DMV, Satan.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

What does the B stand for in BMV? It is DMV in NY. (Department).

I am wearing an eShakti dress right now, and it is a little small in the boob area, but I think I got an 18 and not a 20. I would also say that the cap sleeves can be tight, even on knit dresses, if you are plus sized and don't have perfect posture. But mostly the knit dresses are perfect for me, as long as I am getting an a-line or full skirt. Haven't tried anything else.

A new Greek fast-food place (Simple Greek) just opened a half a block from where I work. It's really good and they give you huge portions. Good news (except for my diet).

Can you leave early?

Thanks. I'm considering it. There's also a Mumford & Sons concert at Montrose Beach this evening that I need to take into account.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yipes Rebecca, seems like an impossible amount of rain this season. Too bad we don't actually control the weather so we could move some of that rainfall over to CA.

I am researching how to recover chair cushions. Need to redo the dining room chairs. Seems doable, but will probably be a challenge for my non-crafty self.

Punishingly Intricate

MVA in Md.

Although I call it the DMV because that's what I grew up with!

I just made the most delicious kale salad with radishes, toasted almonds, and sugar snap peas and a champagne vinaigrette made a little creamy with a tsp of mayo. And, thanks to a story on the radio while I was mid-way through eating, remembered to put some avocado in it! Yum. Now, I'm off for a 4-mile hike with the dog and my friend and her dog.
