Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I know nothing of hockey, but who cares! Yay!

Ginger, did I read that right, that you still have to pay two months of that exorbitant premium even though it was wrong?

Today the carpet cleaners come to clean my previously flooded carpet, and then I will be done dealing with this and can thankfully go back to being a hermit.

Oh, Roto-Rooter called me to make sure everything went well with the installation and repair yesterday. I bit my tongue and said yes, everything's fine. The lady called me "dear" twice. "My dear", even! I am always amused by the Southern tendency to call strangers by endearments.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I think I only have to pay two months of the tax credit. The thing I unsuccessfully tried to pin down was what would it take for Kaiser to not cancel my coverage. At least one Kaiser person suggested I pay the amount of the bill, and then I would get a refund for the excess amount. I am not thrilled with this idea.

Zen, your experience makes think I may not want to hire a company that touts its "friendly" staff. Is there an option for "surly and efficient"?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

None of that seems right, Ginger. I think sarameg was right upthread about contacting your congresscritter or some governmental representative, although I totally understand that having your coverage cancelled meanwhile is not a viable option.

Send me your most competent yet misanthropic employee!

I feel like crap. One of these humans tromping through my house has probably given me a virus.

I have to vacuum and get stuff off the floor and out of the way before the carpet suckers arrive. Yet I wish to go back to bed.

Adulting is actually really easy: just do all the shit you don't want to do, and don't do any of the shit you do want to do until the other shit is done. Also, the other shit is never done.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

brenda, that is totally awesome! I love hockey for this reason.

I think I may have eaten too many cherries.
