I'm paying him for the job, not by the hour, thank goodness.
Well, that's something.
Connie, I am starting to think about planning next year's vacations, too. Whee!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I'm sorry for people who are in such pain they are tempted to open up their own brainboxes.
Truculent rhymes with succulent. But neither word looks right to me.
I finished my work and went to the CVS and then dropped off my quarterly taxes at the post office. Now I am full of more migraine meds, hoping they'll freaking WORK.
I also have hard-boiled eggs chilling in the fridge for egg salad for dinner, because it is WAY too hot and humid to think of eating anything other than cold food for dinner.
After my next meeting, I'm sneaking out of the office early to help hold down a table and chase away chair stealers at a nearby sports bar. We are hoping to get a table by arriving 3 hours early, ha ha.
Good luck! Where are you going?
Where are you going?

We just had a conversation about how he sweats so much and it's embarrassing. Yep, he's flirting. I told him to get his blood pressure checked.
Sweet MoG, he's been here almost THREE HOURS and the job's still not done. There's been no difficulties at all, he's just talking!
I recently decided that while we are in a drought/under water restrictions it would be irresponsible of me to try to sprout avocado trees, pineapple plants, etc. I just threw away an avocado pit for the first time in quite a while. Makes me a little sad, I have to say.
Sounds like the time to point out the time he's wasting and ask what his ETA is on the job.
The insurance adjuster called with good news. Since the damage was due to freezing and it wasn't my fault, they're covering the repair/replacement of the busted outside pipe too. That'll save me a nice chunk of money. Whew. AND they cover cleaning the carpet as part of the mitigation, and the carpet people said they'll clean the part that was actually flooded as well as "traffic" areas, which is exactly what I've been wanting done but was too cheap to pay someone to do. Strangely, this little disaster seems to be working out in my favor. I mean, I still have to pay for a new water heater, but that was inevitable, and if not for this, I might have put it off too long. That old heater was 8 years past its expected lifetime and severely corroded. If it had busted and flooded the house, that would have been a much bigger disaster.
