JFC, what is wrong with people. Tom, none of that makes sense (esp re: Father's Day not having happened yet...) and should be ignored if at all possible. The rest of the stuff (Dana, Sue, et al.) should probably not be ignored.
Pillow fort sounds like the right call.
So that's just me reading too much into my Mom's call.
It sounds like it wasn't about Father's Day, but I don't think that means you're reading too much into it.
To make things even better, there's a tropical storm forming in the Gulf.
No pillow fort for Tom's Mom.
Eh, regardless of specific reasons, a call from a parent to tear you down is Not Good.
In much less galling parent news, my mom called me twice in quick succession during last night's viewing of Jurassic World, which gave me a moment of panic until I could get out of the theater and use my phone. Turns out Dad interrupted her first call with a MedicAlert test, and she didn't think about what an immediate second call would imply.

Yeah, that. For what it's worth, I now picture your mother as Livia Soprano.
Actually, my grandmother was Livia Soprano. Quite uncannily, actually. She's how my Dad learned how to take out all his anger on me and my sisters. Circle of life, yo.
Well, that makes your familial situation pretty clear, Tom. I'm sorry.
Oh, Scola. Your mom is wrong. That is all.
I would happily climb into a pillow fort. My right hip has been hurting badly for a few days, except for a brief respite after yoga Friday. I tried just about everything last night - Alexander Technique, acutepressure, a full dose of muscle relaxant (I usually take half), and sleeping on a heating pad - to no avail. I'm putting most of my weight on my other leg. I made a PT appt tomorrow, which will eat a good chunk of my day; it'll be worth it if I can get some relief.
