Zoe: Planet's coming up a mite fast. Wash: That's just cause, I'm going down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all. Mal: Well, that happens, let me know.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Eh, regardless of specific reasons, a call from a parent to tear you down is Not Good.

Yeah, that. For what it's worth, I now picture your mother as Livia Soprano.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Actually, my grandmother was Livia Soprano. Quite uncannily, actually. She's how my Dad learned how to take out all his anger on me and my sisters. Circle of life, yo.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Well, that makes your familial situation pretty clear, Tom. I'm sorry.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Oh, Scola. Your mom is wrong. That is all.

I would happily climb into a pillow fort. My right hip has been hurting badly for a few days, except for a brief respite after yoga Friday. I tried just about everything last night - Alexander Technique, acutepressure, a full dose of muscle relaxant (I usually take half), and sleeping on a heating pad - to no avail. I'm putting most of my weight on my other leg. I made a PT appt tomorrow, which will eat a good chunk of my day; it'll be worth it if I can get some relief.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Sympathetic ughs to Tom, Sue, and Dana. I hope things smooth out, esp with the asshat making the false insurance claim.

So my son is at camp today, where they will keep him busy so we will both be happier. Daughter we kept home. She was supposed to go to sailing camp, which will be awesome, but not for a child who is still coughing like whoa. So her sailing camp has been switched to mid July instead, when her brother will be in Minecraft camp. Frances and I are now awaiting a call from the doctor about whether or not they want to bring her in for a chest x-ray. I am hoping that a day without fever means a Get Out Of X-Ray Free pass.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I have a massage appointment tonight, but I'm thinking of canceling because the sunburn on my neck still hurts.

The blisters on my big toes are feeling much better at least.

Massage on sunburn does not sound pleasant.

My unopened tin of TJ's Dark Chocolate Wedges that I accidentally left in my desk drawer over the weekend has melted and resolidified so that it basically looks the same (ie, two layers of 8 wedges separated by paper) but is somehow a form that I cannot extract from the tin. There has got to be a gremlin or malevolent deity to blame for this.

My massage therapist said she can work around the sunburn on my neck, so I kept the appointment I had for tonight. So at least today will end better than it started.

This is the therapist who charges me for two hours but often goes for three hours.
