I'm a little concerned about how much I hate everything this morning. I didn't get enough sleep and people keep asking me to do work and I am TRUCULENT.

So maybe I will reschedule the half day I was supposed to take on Friday for tomorrow morning in case the Hawks win it tonight.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm the same way for some reason. I just want to lay on my keyboard and take a nap. Instead I'm gambling that the Earl Grey tea I just got won't upset my stomach.

I don't wanna work, except my boss just gave me a little project that's kind of interesting. I'm hoping tea and '70s girl bands will get me though the day.

Also, Go Hawks.

Focusing on entirely the wrong thing - I have always heard "truculent" in my head with a soft c. That's wrong, isn't it?

Sounds great, Suzi, glad you had a good time!

BTW, I did finally meet my activity level goal last night (had to jog in place for a couple of minutes before bed). That is one place where the Nike Fuelband is superior, it gave me little virtual fireworks (like the display on a blimp). The A300 just tells me "Daily Goal Achieved". Meh.

I woke up with a migraine because the weather is being a jerk. I have all the lights off and the laptop dimmed because I have work to get done. And then I have to run out to the post office to mail my quarterly taxes, which blows. (I don't mind paying my taxes -- I enjoy the type of society we live in that is created in part by taxes -- but my head hurts so much that I don't want to leave the house. Although I need to pick up an Rx at the CVS a block away from the post office, so I guess I'd better steel myself and do it.)

My brother called 5 minutes ago, and I complained about my migraine, and he immediately suggested trepanning. This is how you know we're related.

brillig

Truck-u-lent is how I know it.

My problem is lack of sleep, I own this, it's on me. Plus I'm just getting tired of working. But there's another 15 years of that in my future.

Housemate is also tired of working, but he thinks he actually has a shot at America's Got Talent--or an amazing smartphone app--and he's going to free himself from daily drudgery. He's a pasty, pudgy guy in his mid-30s, I really think radical acceptance is his better option.

Heh. I was about to complain that I forgot my trepanning kit at home so I can't pour hot tea into my skull.

Trepanning for everyone!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also exhausted and cranky. I had too much fun this weekend! And woke up to a rainy day.

I'm taking Friday off, though, so that's good.

In less-great news, I just offered someone a job after confirming that she's eligible to work in the US...and she's not actually eligible for another few weeks! She's waiting on some paperwork that is definitely coming, but who knows when. Ugh.

Ooh, hot tea directly into the skull, that is appealing and I don't even have a headache.

Grandboss is out of the office today so he sent us all an email saying he would miss his usual stroll around the office chatting with all of is in the morning and he wanted to say "good morning" by email at least. He's pretty goofy and sweet sometimes.

I'm the same way for some reason. I just want to lay on my keyboard and take a nap.

I just need to keep it together for the three meetings I have today, and the rest of the time I'm going to read through our internal transfer site because I clearly am clawing at the walls here.

Also, I took tomorrow morning off.

Focusing on entirely the wrong thing - I have always heard "truculent" in my head with a soft c. That's wrong, isn't it?

I always enjoy the hard c of truculent, like I'm attacking people with it.
