I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hooray, Pix!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Steph, yes. I don't have high hopes.

I don't really know anything about gabapentin for anxiety, but I can google it.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

omg weekend YAY!

tomorrow I get highlights for the first time ever (mid length hair driving me crazy, so hoping this distracts me from wanting to cut it all off). I also want to get some shit done, but it is gonna be like 102, so I bet I just sit.

I think I might go see this [link] one night this weekend. Tomorrow might be best. Friend of mine wrote parts of it and *may* be one of the performers in any given show. I've gone to previous ones- they're hilarious and random.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

My mother is going in for surgery on her leg on Monday because the dogs knocked her over and tore a ligament off the bone. It should be routine, but she's at the age where I'm seeing every hospital visit as the last breath she'll breathe, what with the diabetes and all. Especially since I don't get news of her hospital visits until weeks after the fact. Some days when I think about it I keep expecting a phone call of "Oh, yeah, that movie was great, btw mom died last week". Because the boys in my immediate family are awesome like that. And also she called to let me know that she made me second on her executor list, or something. Which I'm glad she's gotten her shit together instead of just talking about it, but it makes it more real.

And mom's depression over my older brother's life-fuck-up makes every conversation harder as I try to decipher whether her soft voice is because she's physically ill or just sad over him.

And I need to get over my snit with my older brother (recap: he's living in my old bedroom because he's a lying thieving alcoholic who destroyed his almost-marriage and I haven't liked or loved him since I was a teenager and I've refused to go home and visit because he's there in my bed and I don't want to have to deal with him 24/7) so that I can see her.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That's good news, Pix.

Ack, Julie, that's hard. Just try to focus on the surgery, I guess. If you can get her to ask one of the med staff to call you, might help, I don't know.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Yay, Pix, for puppies back at home. Sorry for the vet drama.

We got a $2000 bill for an ambulance ride. And it's from SLC airport to the hospital Grace went to. Can't wait to see the life flight bill. Or the ambulance ride from K's dad's place to the Idaho hospital. Or ER visit in IF. Or the emergency surgery, ICU and other stuff in SLC.

I'm feeling a little panicky, actually.
