Ack, Julie, that's hard. Just try to focus on the surgery, I guess. If you can get her to ask one of the med staff to call you, might help, I don't know.

Yay, Pix, for puppies back at home. Sorry for the vet drama.

We got a $2000 bill for an ambulance ride. And it's from SLC airport to the hospital Grace went to. Can't wait to see the life flight bill. Or the ambulance ride from K's dad's place to the Idaho hospital. Or ER visit in IF. Or the emergency surgery, ICU and other stuff in SLC.

I'm feeling a little panicky, actually.

Uhg. How does Grace's mediCAL play into all that? Don't answer if it makes you more freaked out.

Oh, Kat, I forgot you'd just gone through that. Sorry to have brought it up!

Oh man, Kat. That is anxiety-producing for sure, even if it all works out OK. Good luck.

I JUMPED OUT OF AN AIRPLANE TODAY! AND LIVED!!!! OMG. My coworker and I decided to sign up to skydive, so we did. And I HATED the free-fall part (cold! windy! can't breathe! can't think! AHAHHHHHHH!) but once the parachute went, it was OK. And I was worried the landing would hurt, but it was totally fine. YAY. Apparently coworker's parachute was a little hardcore, so she's got some bruises where her harness was--her guy said it happens maybe 1 in 500 times (it worked fine, just came out more snappy than some?). Whew. And now I can say I've done that. And never do it again.

In me-news: lying in a hammock in the shade with a trashy historical mystery to hand and a hummingbird occasionally flitting into view? Not bad at all.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Yay, meara.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Awesome, meara!

I went skydiving once. It was thrilling, and I kind of thought I'd go again, but once turned out to be enough.
