I am kind ticked off at my grandboss right now. So we have this issue with a customer, we are in the wrong, and it boils down to person X used data from the wrong column making a calculation. Which, fine, people make mistakes. But grandboss's knee-jerk pronouncement is the info we send to that department all has to be in Units. Except it was in Units, there was just additional information, and I even said "for Units please use column E" which was the correct column, so, what do we have to do differently?

I'm sure it will all boil down to no change ultimately, but I'm annoyed.

Now hopefully I can not think about it anymore. I need to get 45 minutes of moderate exercise somehow or other.

Thanks for the house ~ma, it looks like we're going to be fine. Miraculously, the water seems to have not touched the drywall or the insulation, but went straight for the carpet. I asked the carpet guy how that was possible, and he said, "Water, man. You never know." So they sucked up most of the water with giant hoses and now I have a huge dehumidifier and two huge fans running noisily in the hall. I can't get into the bathroom or the office. I moved the litter boxes into the dining room, because there's no place else, but that's temporary. The insurance will pay for all that; I don't even get a bill. Outside, the plumber will come back on Monday to replace the cracked pipe, and while he's at it, he'll replace my 18-year-old corroded water heater. I already knew it needed replacing, but I was avoiding it because it's about $1200. Ugh. (Part of me wants to think this minor disaster happened to prevent the major disaster of that water heater bursting and flooding my house with 50 gallons of water. In reality, it happened because I didn't drain the hose properly last winter.) Between the faucet replacement, which insurance will not cover, and the deductible, and the water heater, I'm about to spend around $2000. Which I'm thankful I have, but I'm sad at the hit to my already-meager savings.

The cats are freaked out by the noise. Leo and Murray have braved it enough to come check out the new locations of the food and the litter boxes, but Percy remains upstairs hiding. I got him to come to the top of the stairs, then he noped out and ran back under the bed. (I love the use of "nope" as a verb. So evocative!) I just hope he gets over his fear before he has to pee.

So this was an adventure!

I had my first dental cleaning since my new determination to floss like a champ, and the dental technician was pleased with my progress. Yay, gums!

Burrell, much ~ma to your FiL. Having had my own experience with a lawn mower injury I can tell you that the ER paperwork will include the diagnosis "traumatic amputation" (which can now be his metal band name). I hope Franny is feeling better.

Ahah!! This has been bothering me ever since -t mentioned the "sky train"--it's not a sky train at SFO, it's an "air train"! That's why I thought of airports.

I have not; the name is not even vaguely familiar. However, it would not surprise me at all if I do encounter the name in some way, shape, or form as some part of my duties as outlined is to track compliance issues. Plus, we have a 10-year contract with GE: they give us MRI machines free of charge and we do massive amounts of research, then report back to them. We save between 1.5 - 3 million dollars per machine and I think we've got 3 MRI besides multiple CT and PET scanners from them, too.
