Aren't they something. They're like butterflies, or little pieces of wrapping paper blowing around.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I'd definitely call a shotgun aggravated menacing. Sorry, but that phrase just sounds oxymoronic. I'd be pretty aggravated under any conditions, if someone was menacing me. It reminds me of one of the articles of the UCMJ, I think it was article 117, "Provoking gestures and speeches." At what point between "go jump off a cliff" to "fuck you and yo mamma" does it become provoking? Is it like pornography and we'll recognize it?

Side note: yeah, I went and looked it up to make sure I had the right article and I did. I remember way too much of this crap for being out of the military over 20 years.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy shit, Burrell. I'm glad your FIL got to the right kind of care!

The news article this morning says that the person killed answered a police doorknock with a rifle and was shot following "an altercation."

At least that sounds menacing...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

ION it is raining. Water falling from the sky and hitting my roof. So weird.

No duck eggs for me this fortnight. I'll have to make do with chicken eggs and goose eggs like a chump.

Can I sneeze my brains out before 10 am?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Can I sneeze my brains out before 10 am?

Do you want to, or are you asking if it's possible ? Because it's totally possible.

Burrell, glad your FiL was able to get to the hospital quickly! Much ~ma for him and his poor finger.

At what point between "go jump off a cliff" to "fuck you and yo mamma" does it become provoking? Is it like pornography and we'll recognize it?

Yeah, that needs to be clarified. A lot. As does the concept of "feeling threatened".

Steph, I hope things settle down in your 'hood today. That's a scary thing to be close to.

One of my friends recently had a multiple-fatality car crash happen at the end of her driveway. She's still too shook up to drive even though she wasn't involved. It's just, that's too close.

Guess who has two thumbs and woke up for the day at 3:30 am?

Oh, hello! Me, last night I woke up around 4am having an anxiety attack that left my arms numb and me certain I was having a heart attack, so I guess the personal era of panic attacks isn't quite over yet. But today's meeting is cancelled, so I may wrestle the worst of work this morning and take the rest of the day off to sleep.

I woke up at 4, and while I didn't just get up and start my day, I did get my internet surfing out of the way so there were no impediments to getting up and starting the day at 5. And now I've kind of run out of Getting Ready for Work stuff. Maybe I will start a load of laundry.

Our wings are not tired.

Much ~ma for a quick recovery for your FiL, Burrell.

No shootings up here in the Adirondacks, but escaped convicts are around somewhere. They have asked residents to not leave their keys in the car and to lock their houses. Neither of which normally happens. My sister leaves her keys and her purse in the car all the time. I don't do that. Not locking the house though. It seems very unlikely the dudes are coming this way.

May everyone's Wednesday be peaceful and pleasant.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yikes, Burrell. I'm glad your father-in-law is getting good medical care.

I heard about those guys, Laura. Sounds like quite a story that we don't know the half of.
