Natter 73: Chuck Norris only wishes he could Natter

I hope your shooting was under extreme duress and valid threat
That's what I'm hoping so hard. I know that there are situations in which police officers have to shoot. I know that. (I also know I'm preaching to the choir here. I'm pretty much just trying to reassure myself enough to sleep.) I just hope this was one of those situations.
And then, even if it was, I don't know if that'll be sufficient, especially if the person who was shot was a black person (this neighborhood is probably 40% black, and, to be honest, I'll be stunned if the person who was shot was white).
Ugh. Yes, the suspect was killed. No information on their identity, other than that the suspect was male. One news report says the suspect had a gun, but another doesn't mention anything about a gun.
The charge is aggravated menacing, which happens to be what Tamir Rice was charged with in Cleveland, so I don't feel really great about this right now.
Okay, I really am going to bed now.
Ugh Steph
Lost a finger?!? Dear goodness, what did the man do?
Sorry to disappear, I was shuffling kids to bed, and then talking to my sis. But his hand got caught in a lawn mower. The kind of lawn mower that you drive. I'm sure it was pretty awful, and they live in a remote area, hence the need for the air lift. Also a big ugh
Oh, man. I'm so sorry, you guys.
I'm sorry, Burrell. I hope your FiL's recovery is as smooth as possible.
Sorry about the shooting, Steph. I hope it doesn't turn into a flustercuck for your neighborhood.
Guess who has two thumbs and woke up for the day at 3:30 am? Yeah, it's this chick. I'm hoping our long overdue client blew past another deadline so we don't have to meet with him this afternoon.
FiL~ma, Burrell.
WTF is aggravated menacing? If he doesn't have a gun, he's not really a threat. And if you're that worried, call for back-up and wait. Even I learned that working military police in the Navy. Cops are not vigilantes, and despite the badge, their discretionary powers are not endless. Although current law has been acting like it just about everywhere. Pretty sick of it.
The news article this morning says that the person killed answered a police doorknock with a rifle and was shot following "an altercation." The police were called to investigate a "menacing complaint." It looks like a lot of people showed up (including the police chief) and two arrests were made but it was overall pretty under control, as far as public protests at 1am can be.
The commenters who live in far rural suburbs all said, "Here come the riots!" I hate those fucking bigots.
I'd definitely call a shotgun aggravated menacing. Sorry, but that phrase just sounds oxymoronic. I'd be pretty aggravated under any conditions, if someone was menacing me. It reminds me of one of the articles of the UCMJ, I think it was article 117, "Provoking gestures and speeches." At what point between "go jump off a cliff" to "fuck you and yo mamma" does it become provoking? Is it like pornography and we'll recognize it?
Side note: yeah, I went and looked it up to make sure I had the right article and I did. I remember way too much of this crap for being out of the military over 20 years.
Holy shit, Burrell. I'm glad your FIL got to the right kind of care!

At least that sounds menacing...
ION it is raining. Water falling from the sky and hitting my roof. So weird.
