Went out with a friend and her two kids to see "Matilda" tonight. The eldest is about to graduate and go off to college, and we had a wonderful conversation while his mom and younger bro were in line for tacos. He had questions about how college classes are different than high school classes and how to make friends and how to dress for the weather in Pittsburgh (a big issue for a native Angeleno). This is a guy who is not a big talker, so I was really honored that he opened up to me. Made my night.
Matilda was great, by the way.
Zenkitty, have you tried tubing? When I visited a friend in Charlottesville in 2005, she took me to a place where they drive you upstream and then send you down a fairly calm river in innertubes. We brought a cooler and got a smaller tube for that. It was lovely--we chatted and drifted, half submerged in a cool river on a hot day I'm pretty sure it was well under $20, albeit 10 years ago
Sometimes I think I can only keep one color in my head at a time. Like, when I'm shopping I often end up buying the color I'm wearing. And this morning I put on a dress the same color as the nail polish I put on last night! This is not on purpose!
That doesn't sound like a problem. Well, buying the color you're wearing is not optimal, I guess, but not terrible.
Guess who forgot to put the filter in the cold brew system yesterday? Drains really fast without that pesky filter, I tell you what.
Oh, it's not a problem, I just think it's funny. And possibly other people think I'm more committed to matching than I actually am. And I'm pretty committed to matching...
My new officemate started today, the one with the view of my screen, so I should probably not be online...
Maybe you should double down, really be about matching. Go with your strengths.
I'm drinking coffee out of a teacup. So wrong. (because I have to compare the cold brew to the french press (because I can't just decide to change the way I make coffee, I have to make sure any change in quality is offset by simplification of process) and I forgot to bring in an extra coffee cup)
Arrrgh, in latest destructo-cats news, at some point early Sunday morning mine chewed through the cord on my laptop's power adapter. I discovered this last night when I found out my laptop was down to 8% battery power and not charging. I won't be able to use it until the replacement arrives.
Oh no! That's why my rabbit cannot roam around the house, I know they like to chew on cords, but I've never had a cat do it.
The coffees, by the way, are pretty much identical. I might prefer the cold brew a little.
ETA to be thorough I should probably repeat the comparison with cold brew that has been in the fridge for a week or two vs fresh ground beans
