Who has two thumbs and a sunburn? Yeah...one rain free day and I get torched.

Also made my last rent payment and first mortgage payment. Woot, woot!!! Just need to clear three things from the apt and I can turn in keys.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Yeah!!

We found out this weekend that our contractor royally screwed us over...we hired him do reface our kitchen cabinets plus a handful of other small things around the house. He started with the little things to get them out of the way, and somehow overspent our budget by $4k without even *starting* on the fucking kitchen!! Also hasn't provided any actual receipts for materials or invoices for labor, but suffice to say, we're challenging him on the cost (no, we will not be paying twice our original budget for half of the work you promised...) but now I don't know what to do about the kitchen. The cabinet refacing was the thing we really needed, and now we're back to square one. Somehow we're going to need to find another contractor or handyman who can put in decent looking cabinet doors and rebuild drawers for basically no money. (And we can't do IKEA, their cabinets are 30" high and ours are 24".)

Apparently Suzi has six thumbs! :)

Shit, Jess, that bites. A lot.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Woo, Suzi (apart from the sunburn).

Jessica, that sucks a lot.

I got up this morning and, as I was making coffee, I kept having the impulse to Go Do That Now for different things, all of which need to be done in the next week, but none of which needed to happen before coffee. I just spent an hour making a list, but I feel much better about my ability to proceed in a sand and relatively orderly fashion. We'll see how long that lasts.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yay Suzi!

Ugh, Jessica. I am jealous of your 24" cabinets, though. My counters are too high.

Have grocery shopped and have decaf cold-brewing on the counter, so that's something. Did not really get anything I can just eat for lunch, more's the pity, maybe I can put something simple together quickly. Because hungry. Then we'll see what else absolutely must be done today.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

friend is not coming over which of course has made me even more lazy.

I went and got mac Chipotle for late lunch/early dinner/only meal of his day I think.

MUST MOTIVATE!

Now what I need to do:

Vacuum the living room rug and the chairs (should be done once a week)
Finish moving a bookshelf from front LVG to back LVG (one time thing, ongoing moving of furniture, this has been going on for weeks)
take pictures and list at least 5 things for sell (again ongoing stuff for me, moving way slower than I want because I am a sloth)
clean cat beds (this should really be done once a week also, they are gross)
make blueberry scones (mac is home alone this coming week and I told him I'd make some for him to have as breakfasts/snacks)
make mac a schedule for coming week - chores/reading/trombone (he will have these for every week that he is not in a summer activity)
start new bag for non-selling get rid of stuff

ok - started.

Sorry for the triple there...was just excited, I guess.

Once I pay off the new windows, redoing my kitchen cabinets is next on the list. Will be a while but they frustrate me. They are small, cheep, and odd spaces making it hard to fit anything.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, ugh, Jess! Good luck.

I sent off my work thing...and of course then I noticed a couple of things I should have fixed first. I think it's fine. At least it's done!
