Speaking of cat shenanigans, the kittens were on a roll last night. They knocked down a poster and shattered two bowls filled with water. They pulled window blinds out of their anchor, which crashed down into their food bowls. Those bowls were metal, so the food just went everywhere.
They also have learned how to headbutt humans when one has picked them up and is trying to remove them from a danger zone of shattered crockery.
I am SO GLAD that I did not end up putting my hat in the ring for the new job, and then my friend would have thought I was his subordinate and I would have thought I was a higher level! I didn't end up applying because I realized that I would be reporting to the not so great manager AND would be totally stuck between the faculty, my friend, and this manager!
Ick, Sophia. That sounds complicated.
Kaylee has no appetite this morning. She won’t even eat chicken and rice. I’m back on hold with the vet. No word on the puppy.
I think I have given up on contacts. I still have a pair, I think, but i haven't worn them in over a year and trying to break them in again feels like a huge obstacle.
Pix, sometimes when dogs have vomiting of unknown origin, they lose their appetite because their stomach is unsettled since all they have in it is stomach acid. If it were me, I'd call the vet, too, to be sure, but Kaylee will probably get her appetite back soon-ish. (Source: Kato, who could make a career out of barfing if it were a viable dog career.)
Thanks, Tep. That’s actually a huge relief to hear. It’s just so unusual for Kaylee that I’ve been worried. They did give her a shot of Pepcid as well as the anti-vomiting meds last night, so I hope that helps.
Poor Kato. That’s not a fun career for any species.
We haven't had a land line in 8 years, and haven't missed it. I've been considering adding a fake land line through AT&T since it would only be $10/month added to our family plan (basically a desk phone on a cellular plan) just to have a family number that people could call if they needed to get in touch with "whoever is at home" vs specifically me or Ethan.

Our vet reminded us, "How hungry are you when you're throwing up? Maybe sometimes you are, but a lot of the time you probably aren't, because everything is so unsettled down there." Which is a fair point.

I would say "poor Kato," too, except half the time he brings it on himself, cheerfully eating grass like he discovered a hidden can of Pringles or something. "Hey, this grass is great! I'm going to eat some more! ...wait, now I don't feel so good..." Dogs, man.
Zoe has done the vomit and no appetite thing too. It freaks me out because normally she eats like she hasn't eaten in days. So ignoring food is very upsetting. And yet for no apparent reason it passes. Not fun.
