Yay kitty!

You guys, in the last week (literally the last 7 days), FOUR people in my life have had someone close to them die. And it's weird because these are important people in my life, but I didn't know the people who died, so *I'm* not grieving, exactly, but trying to provide support and hold their grief. It's weird and hard.

One friend's 20-something son died of a heroin overdose last week; our BFFs' neighbor and good friend died in a motorcycle accident a few days ago; and last night Tim's nephew's GF's mother (who nephew and GF were living with) died unexpectedly.

It's a lot. What the hell?

That is a lot, Tep. Weird and hard sounds right. Take care of yourself, too. Just because you are not grieving doesn't mean you can spend all your energy taking care of those that are.

I didn't attend my 25th high school reunion last weekend, and people are posting pictures, including of people I hadn't seen or thought of since high school, and it's simultaneously kind of nice and kind of traumatizing. While I wouln't mind having a firmer ass and being a blonde again, there is NO amount of money you could pay me to be a teenager again.

(Also, Jesse, did you happen to know a guy named Kossouth in college, by any chance? We're the same year, right, college '94? He remains possibly the best looking person I have ever known in real life.)

Nephew's GF's mother is a really hard one (not that there's any hierarchy going on; just different circumstances) -- her high school graduation is *tomorrow.* My heart just breaks for her.

Nephew was living with his GF and mother in high school? Huh. But yes, that would be super super hard.

Yay Jesse with the new kitten! I am worried about mine--he is still very vocal, but he doesn't seem to want to eat or drink (he had a few sips and a few bites this morning, when I hung out with him, but didn't seem to have touched any of the food from last night, and I gave him a few kinds). And I canNOT get him to take his medicine! I don't know why he's fighting it so hard--I've literally had 11 or 12 kittens before him and not had any trouble getting them to take it. But he will hack it up and spit it out and have drool hanging from his face, rather than swallow it. And he's tiny! Very lovey though, he wants nothing more than to wind around ankles. And yowl at you.

meara, I volunteer Plei and myself for this. *I* dress like a vampire witch, but I am good at figuring out clothes for non-spooky people.
