Hooray for people getting things done! Boo for incompetent people.

Hey, Jeopardy just taught me that "oculogyric" refers to rolling your eyes, but I have to say, I like @@ better. Only a little better.
I have worked on updating data across three data sources today and my eyes are crossing. This is not a deadline task or anything, we are just so dead I am doing the important, but not urgent time consuming things.
But now I am headachy from it so I am reading fic.
Timelies all!
Sorry you're dealing with incompetence, Ginger.
I have also been curious about the maple water. Anyone?
I hate interviewing, Shrift. So much.
I'm on a search committee right now, and interviewing also sucks from this end.
So true, Una. I hate it from both sides.
Is one who rolls their eyes and oculogyre?
So, turns out I would have been giving the presentation after all (I found out at one when the thing started and the coworker who put our presentation together hadn't me her copy of the powerpoint slides and some scribbled notes) if everyone else hadn't run long. That was kind of interesting, but probably not worth three hours of me not getting my real work done. Oh well.
Also, it would save them money if, for example, the lab person entered X test and the computer said, "X test is monthly, and this patient had X test a week ago. Are you sure you want to run X test?" This does not strike me as rocket science.
Rocket science, sadly, is probably actually easier. There's not a universal system or platform (would be nice, yet probably not possible with medicine being private not public), so you've got that hurdle, plus HIPAA issues...
There really shouldn't be HIPAA issues if everything is within Kaiser. Or cross platform issues, one would think, but who knows what kind of standards they have for that.
