I am in Omaha. It is really cold here (currently 48). It is supposed to be in the 70s in Seattle again. Wtf, Omaha??

I did manage to wake up early and run! A little. Because I set my alarm for 645 but didn't manage to be up and dressed and in the hotel gym until 730. Which didn't leave much time. But I did get up!! I was very tempted to say screw it and not do it.

I have been waking early lately but utterly failing at getting out of bed before 6:30. Maybe next week?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Go you, meara!

I could use some more coffee today. But it is not my way.

Dammit, google gave me the wrong time zone translation and I missed a call I could have made! And wish I had been on! Grrr.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Our phone company called because they've finally got fioptics on our street, and the guy was cheerfully going through his script about how the phone/fioptics/cable package could save us hundreds of dollars a month, when he asked if we're with DirecTV or Time Warner cable.

I completely derailed his script when I said we don't have cable. I mean, he really had no idea what to say for a minute. Is it that weird? I know lots of people who cut cable in favor of Hulu/Netflix/Amazon. We get everything we need via Hulu (except CBS, who sucks).

That said, I *really* want fioptics. Fast internet means STREAM ALL THE THINGS!

I derailed the TiVo Support guy trying to convince me not to cancel my subscription when I told him we didn't have a landline anymore.

Is it that weird? I know lots of people who cut cable in favor of Hulu/Netflix/Amazon.

It's not weird. The media reports on "cord cutters" all the time.

That's what I figured. Granted that Buffistas are often early adopters of things like Roku/Apple TV/etc., so I knew about alternatives to cable for a long time. But in 2015, it's just not that weird for people to not have cable.

And the guy on the phone HAS to know that fioptics just means it's easier to stream stuff, which makes cable even more unnecessary.

But in 2015, it's just not that weird for people to not have cable.

Granted, I'm a member of the no cable group, so I probably overestimate its size. And I think cord-cutting probably is more associated with Millennials. But still.
