Hmm, love key lime pie and Greek yogurt, dislike white chocolate. Is that a key ingredient to making it delicious?
Went on a 2nd date tonight. In theory it went very well--she's smart, funny, cute, etc. but...just not feeling it, date-wise, though I'd totally be friends with her. Ugh. Why, self??? We kissed at the end and I just felt horridly awkward. Sigh.
meara, I've found recipes with white chocolate often don't even taste like they have it in it. I use ita's recipe for bread pudding that has white chocolate chips and it doesn't really add to the flavor, just the consistency.
ION, my roommate was offered a position in the custodial department at the VA hospital at $14/hr, which is great. She's been working there for 6 months under a special program to get disabled vets back to work, but it was more or less contract work. She's been on disability forever and this will allow her to get off it; plus working for the VA makes her a federal employee. She had 16 years in the military, when she got out to raise a family. Any years with the federal government will be added to her military service towards a federal retirement, which is even more awesome. Plus, plus, she was recently evaluated for medical compensation on the basis of her disability and look like she'll be getting 60% compensation based on what her pay level was when she got out. The woman is pretty much set for life. She'll be making mucho bucks more than me.
Glad for your roommate, Sail!
I'm not a fan of white chocolate, but I've had candy made with white chocolate and lemon that was amazingly delicious, so I can see it working with lime.
Bummer when chemistry doesn't go the way we would prefer.
The white chocolate is for texture in the crust: it melts and recools and holds the crust together. It is only an ounce of white chocolate in the entire crust and mainly tastes like fat and sugar. Only slightly white chocolaty in taste. I'm sure you could use a standard graham cracker crust recipe (or buy one premade even) and do fine, but I recommend trying it once at least. I don't hate white chocolate, though I don't seek it out or anything, but I think it is great here.
Thanks for the white chocolate clarification! I know I had some banana cream pie once (the restaurant was known for it and we ordered other desserts and the waiter gave us a slice of pie anyway) with white chocolate in it (one of the reasons I didn't order it) and it was delicious.
Things I dislike: 7am teleconferences. Things I dislike more: three straight hours of teleconferences!
Ugh, I hate teleconferences. And meetings in general.
And Mondays. They should be on the list too.
Things I like: A day off! I feel like I should see Mad Max on feminist principles, but I don't know if I'll make it out of the house.
I feel like I should see Mad Max on feminist principles
What a world we live in, where this sentence makes perfect sense.
