Great. After a week of being completely clear, (it was sluggish, I treated it, it handled 3 large loads of laundry) my sewer line is stopped up. I think my whole shower ender up in the basement. I can't even begin to deal with this until this evening. At least my next door neighbor is out of town, so I can use her place? Though if it is the main line...urgh. Will have to see if I can get the city to come work from her clean out drain.

See, meara, it could be worse? Just run your best. And flush with abandon!

Our wings are not tired.

I'm a little freaked out because I was googling and found the times for past years of the race I'm doing in the morning. And by the looks of those? I will be dead last. Seriously last. The slowest person was a full six minutes faster than my 10k PR. That'll be awkward...

My first marathon I was the absolute last, which I didn't know until the newspaper listed all the participants. 6:59 - they cut off at 7 hours. I totally felt like a winner for doing the race.

You are not racing against people; you are racing for yourself.

black coffee:

As for death penalty, I wouldn't be on the jury because I would never find it acceptable. How more premeditated can murder be than the death penalty? It is strictly a moral thing with me. Two wrongs do not equal a right. I can see murder in self-defense or defense of others and that type of thing, but cold decision making by "civilized" society to take life just goes against my being. I get why others favor it, but I have never been able to accept it as an option.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I was not a fan of Penn Jillette prior to that, but now I hate him! Good job.

Yeah, I only caught the last half (maybe less) but he did not win any points with me.

Go meara! Run run run, go the distance etc.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Quiet weekend here.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm in Philadelphia! Exciting.

Jesse, you've been doing tons of fun travelling along the coast recently. I'm awfully envious. Or is it jealous. What's the difference between the two again?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Aaron Rodgers, OTOH, killed it on celebrity jeopardy this week in a completely adorkable cardigan.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Hi folks, I've been away from WiFi for a few days and out on a sail boat with 30 middle school kids. In the rain. Which I admit signs like a terrible idea but it was great. My daughter is freaking fearless. Oy! I need to put together an album of pics for Facebook. But right now I'm sitting with a cousin's pomeranian I think this dog has been bred to be nuthin but cute.

Glad it wasn't bad, Burrell--that definitely sounds like it could be a nightmare.

Other nightmares: my autocorrect does not update "belieber". Wtf.

I just got to the race start (it doesn't start for an hour but I have a book. And the Internet). They claim at least a few people are walking the 10k...but there's only about 90 people signed up. Eek.
