El Ray is a constant delight. Their Christmas Kaiju marathon was glorious, especially the one where Godzilla fought the giant, genetically modified rose that was animated by the ghost of the scientist's dead daughter. And phew, I finally got a check-in email for my flight tomorrow. I couldn't find my confirmation email, and even though the reservation was there on the airline website, I had some fear that something was fucked up. EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT.

Hey, my brother has been sober for 3 years today. What's weird is that I woke up this morning thinking that his sobriety anniversary is right around this time in May, but I couldn't remember the exact date, because my memory is shit. And then he posted about it on Instagram this morning.
I don't like to think about it too hard, because when he went to the hospital, he had liver damage and the doctor said he was probably a year away, at most, from advancing to cirrhosis (if he kept drinking, that is). But his liver healed totally after he quit, which is amazing, since he abused it on an epic scale.
Three years. I'm so proud of him.
