And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Lots of ~ma, brenda. I hope that it ends up being not too worrisome.

Puppy ~ma, Pix.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

You mean electrically started gasoline-powered cars? Those had big pushbuttons on the floor--usually under the gas pedal.

No. A friend of mine used to drive an old hearse, and you had to push a button on the dash to start the engine. Maybe not the first cars, but there were some like that.

The dinosaurs seem to have discovered Nightvale.

Pix, I hope the puppy has something easily curable.

Brenda, glad you got your brother to respond. Much ~ma for him.

NOpe. Nope, nope, nope. Which is not the reaction I expected to have, but apparently my hindbrain goes to WHAT ELSE CAN GET THAT BIG at lightning speed.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Puppy~ma for pix and ~ma for brenda's brother.

Oh, you're right. I'd forgotten about those.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Okay. Going out on Friday night, back on Monday AM.

The fact that he chose to have me come in I think may be indicative of his mental state - either not enough spoons to go, or to deal with the whole fam. But I think it's actually better this way in terms of really talking.

Good, I hate it when I remember things that couldn't have happened! That was a seriously cool old car.

brenda, sounds like best outcome. May it go well.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh Pix, how soon will you know? That poor pup, I am so glad she has you and Drew.

brenda, I am sorry to hear of your brother's struggles but I am so glad he responded to your text! And that you can get out there.

Today I brought a sandwich to work that I'd made--I haven't done that in ages. It's turkey and pastrami and swiss cheese on sourdough bread.

I pronounce it 'nummy'.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Much ~ma to you, brenda, and to your brother. And puppy~ma to Pix and Drew.

We spent the morning sorting out the car stuff, which meant figuring out what we need to do to turn the Malibu into a reasonable facsimile of a primary car, and deciding to bring home the van and await for either a used transmission to show up or trade it in for a reliable vehicle. Buying a new car will move up on the to-do list, but knowing us it will take a month or so. Please God not six.
