Oh, I should answer some more asks today before I run off to see Avengers again.
The hammer question is from a non-Buffista friend of mine! That's hilarious.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I just had a disturbing exchange/experience at mac's school. Kid in the office way too much direct eye contact and leaning toward me with "hi, how are you?" And then "have a nice afternoon." Like super smarmy. Then I had to turn back after I had passed him to respond to the nurse saying something to me and he full on had his head down sideways watching me walk away. THE FUCK?!? 15 year old, you are not right.
Shrift, I thought of a question to submit to Dear NSA, but it is similar to the Hammer question, so please ignore it if you feel like it.
Anytime somebody wants to pay you to live in Europe, even if it's just for a couple years? I think you should do that.
Absolutely, 100% agree.
I would love to live in Europe for a couple years (Edinburgh, Belgium, Netherlands... Dublin). Hoping it will happen someday.
Tell them they can save money by not giving you a cost of living raise and just flying you there once a month or something. Eeesh.
I'm actually thinking about pitching something like that. The NY office is a much less WFH culture than we are in Chicago though.
Oh, I never reported back on my transpo: We took a car service from SFO to Palo Alto, and then to the City, and it was worth every penny (that my work is paying). In the end, it probably didn't cost much more than a rental car would have, anyway, once you factor in parking, never mind the stress and inability to do other things (we each had work calls to make).
I survived, but it was ugly.
The plane hit at a busy and perpetually backed up intersection, but amazingly no one on the ground was hurt. It reportedly clipped a semi and debris damaged some cars. Whether by chance or design, the plane apparently hit the wall between the east- and westbound lanes. It immediately burst into flames, and very little was left of the plane. I heard a woman being interviewed who said the man in front of her blocked an emergency lane and got out of his car to take pictures with his phone.
Connie, I'll be having a transfusion roughly every other week until that glorious day when I start making red blood cells, whenever that may be. I can't possibly express how weary I am of this.
I wish I had a root and some freedom.
I am now looking for travel deals for Ireland, because I think I need to go to there before I make the decision to move there.
I also would move to Dublin for a couple years if I had the chance. But yes, mayhaps you should check it for yourself.
