Natter 73: Chuck Norris only wishes he could Natter
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have to get a blood test today for a transfusion tomorrow. As I was getting myself together to leave, I learned that a small plane had crashed on the interstate between said test and me. The surface-street route is ridiculously convoluted. Sigh.
eta: I see now that four people were killed, so I really shouldn't complain about the inconvenience.
I guess I'll pack some snacks and head out.
Ginger, how awful. Did anyone on the ground get hurt? If so, I'm grateful your appointment wasn't earlier.
How many more transfusions, Ginger?
That's terrible for the people in the crash, of course, but it's also a headache you don't need, Ginger. You can complain to me all you want.
Luckily, the ED i was supposed to be meeting was tied up until 9:30, so I made it there in time.
Phew!

What she said.
Yeah, wow on both counts, crash and headache for driving!
Brenda, don't you work from home a lot anyway? Why do they need to move you to New York?? Tell them they can save money by not giving you a cost of living raise and just flying you there once a month or something. Eeesh.
Friday morning is a poopyhead, pass it on.
You could live in Europe! It's not just Dublin, it's easy travel to London and Paris and any fucking where.
That is the biggest pro on my list about Dublin.
Shrift, I put in another question for Dear NSA - you'll hopefully know it's mine when you see it - and then pushed the heck out of this.
Oh, I should answer some more asks today before I run off to see Avengers again.
That is the biggest pro on my list about Dublin.
I won't hammer on it but I'll just say this. When I was in my 20s I had a conscious realization that the biggest thing I had in the bank was freedom, and that's what I should spend. I didn't have a mortgage. I wasn't a parent. I certainly had family relationships and friendships. But I needed to take advantage of my greatest asset. And that's why I moved to Boston, LA and then San Francisco.
Somewhere over the near horizon for you will be something that ties you down pretty hard. Maybe it will be your choice, maybe it will be thrust upon you. But I would recommend that you take advantage of the freedom that is available to you now.

AGREED. Work is just one thing after another, and not really politely waiting to be after.
On the plus side, someone finally asked me about my Troy and Abed in the Morning mug. She'd never heard of Community, so not a bonding moment, but at least someone noticed it says something.
Dublin! In a flat second. Because of what David said.
Congrats Juliana! Thrilled for you and M.
I'm home today. Had an allergic reaction to the new shirt I wore yesterday, which I foolishly did not wash before I wore it the first time; nothing major, but my torso is itchy and rashy, and I decided a day to recover would help. I have a ton of grading to do, but rare LA rain is thwarting my ability to grade on my patio. So at the moment I'm lying in bed and wondering why I don't have a Downton Abbey-esque staff to make me breakfast and deliver it on a tray.
