Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm driving to Madison on Friday. On Saturday my sister and I will drive to Clintonville to attend Mother's Day dinner with our mom at Angelus Retirement Community.

So at least I don't have to mail the Mother's Day card.

Maybe I will get a mother's day card for my sister. And my SILs.

Drinks after work with co-workers, during which we will bitch. Yay.

My brother and I *just* text-coordinated my stepdad's BD gift (his BD is Saturday).

My sister and I are exasperated with our father because we know that he'll put off picking up his part of the gift until the last minute, and we are people who plan. Or at least, I've become a person who plans, because if I don't plan, I never do anything.

Shrift - I apologize for the pancake question. That was CJ.

Ha! As a Chicago resident, I have to say that the pancake question was a pretty sick burn.

I got cards last night, but I'm not sure if they need extra postage, so I'm hoping to finish up at this site early enough to find a post office.

This site is super weird, btw. Looks like an abandoned prison on the outside, and inside, weirdly formal and ornate furniture. Not super comfy.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've taken a mid-day break, because my EZPass toll account ran out of money and I have to wait until it replenishes before I can drive through a toll booth. Not that hard to do when you go through $40-50 worth of tolls a week -- which Uber repays me for, but still.

Also, hi Jesse! Forgetting a book for the plane bites...especially on a cross-country!!

It is as if CJ knew that (I forgot). That was utterly random. Or was it...

Separately - does anyone here give their cats glucosamine chews? Have you found them helpful? If not, any suggestions. I'm worried about Miss Kitty and the stairs.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm loving Dear NSA.

Oh, yeah, expense report, mother fudger. I hate paperwork. Even when it gets me money.

Lisah, bask in that last-day freedom!

I give myself glucosamine chews. Okay, capsules. I think they're great. I'd give them to my cat.

I don't know whether to ask you to tell us something only the real Matt would know, or to suggest you add in a few more details and submit that to the next Bulwer Lytton contest.

Both! Both is good!

When I walked in to Joann's that day, they had 13 yards of Exploding TARDIS fabric. When I walked out, they had zero.

Now I'm seeing WS leaving Joann's in a slow-mo power walk, All The Fabric slung over her shoulder like spoils of war, while random TARDISes explode behind her.

I came in here to say something specific, but I've forgotten it.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Suzi, I started giving Harvey these [link] not quite three years ago. Pet Naturals Hip + Joint for Cats has Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM. Three years ago, we noticed he was grooming less, playing less, and even got to the point where he was not able to jump up onto my lap. A coworker bragged on the dog treats she gave a dog at another job she had, that she could see when she was not there to give 'em, the dog could barely walk but after she worked a few days in a row, the dog would be running and jumping happily. So when it was time for his annual physical in June, I asked the Vet about it. By means of watching Harvey walk, the Vet diagnosed him with osteoarthritis in his hips and recommended a dosage level of glucosamine and chondroitin. I went to my local awesome pet food store, and the clerk helped me find the Pet Naturals - the dosage of stuff did not match the Vet's recommendations perfectly but was the closest they had. Within a week of starting on these, we noticed a difference in how Harvey was walking. Within a month, he was back to chasing his tail up on the 8-inch wide ledge by the stairs. Once when the store was out of Pet Naturals, I tried a different brand and those seemed to help less. No further problems until last December, when x-rays revealed a collapsed disk in his spine - a cortisone injection got him back on his feet. At this point, at the age of 17, he walks like he needs a rear-end allignment, but by gum, Sammie wishes he would start acting his age and quit chasing her around.
