Just got the call about the other position I applied for, they are going with someone else.
Maybe I should go get lunch, I haven't done that yet...

Seriously, it IS RAD. I passed up the option of cookie dough for beet hummus.
My first read of this was that you were debating between cookie dough hummus and beet hummus.
Home Depot in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon was like Home Depot on a Saturday morning. There were two women whose carts were nose-to-nose in front of the intersecting aisle. They were proclaiming about the flowers and asking how anyone could not believe they were created by god. I was thinking that I'd be more inclined to believe in the existence a benevolent god if they'd let me get by. Then I went to the grocery store, which was out of the thing on sale I wanted, and a man asked me how I hurt my arm and I had to explain lymphedema. This is why I don't get out more.
Dang, I failed to get lunch. After I didn't manage to get my own lunch, another department put out their Cinco de Mayo leftovers for general consumption, but I didn't see the email until everything I'd eat was gone.

Yuuuuup.

Fair enough!
But it does remind me of the bulletin at my mother's church, which hilariously says, "The flowers on the altar are supplied by the Creator, and brought in by [whoever in honor of whatever]." It makes me laugh.
That's pretty funny.
Whew, I am home and I have a burrito. I have a city council meeting I should really go to tonight, so I can't completely relax, but food is good.
I was apparently too restrained with all of my restaurant meals while out of town last week, because I just had to get takeout buffalo chicken fingers, which I never do! But man, that was delicious.
I ate lunch today so why am I so hungry? Oh well, must fix this.
I never did eat lunch. I seem to have snacked and taken a long nap instead. OTOH, I lost count of my Uber fares this morning (lots of quick turnarounds, and pleasant passengers, too) so it was a nice surprise to see that I'd gotten nearly $200 of them (then minus Uber's 20% cut, but still). That's high for an ordinary Tuesday, most times I'd drive for 6 hours and get maybe $150-ish.
If I could drive for 8 hours in a day it would be even better, but even with breaks I'm tiring out after 6, start missing turns and whatnot.
Timelies all!
Because I was going to be at Malice most of Sunday, I left a shopping list for Gary. I managed to leave off a few important items so I've had to make stops after work yesterday and today to get them. (This is what happens when a sleepy person makes a grocery list. At least I didn't put anything weird on it.)
Cat and finance~ma to Theodosia. I hope your cousin was just overly stressed, Matt. Diagnosis~ma, TB. Such ~ma as is appropriate to the people I missed.
Work is starting to move out of the "here's how to deal with system whatever" and into a place where I feel I can contribute, which is nice. I've found at least one comics/SF geek with whom to chat over lunch. If the pay was higher and the commute shorter, it would be nearly perfect. It's still better than nothing, so yay. We went out for chicken and waffles on Monday. The individual components were all very tasty, but the combo didn't wow me. Still, I'm glad I tried it.
