Not billytea but I'm pretty sure it's a shark, possibly a zebra shark. I like zebra sharks.

Yep, zebra shark. (Wikipedia claims that it sometimes gets called the leopard shark, which makes more sense given it's covered in spots, except there's already a shark called a leopard shark. Young zebra sharks are stripier, which is presumably how they got the name.)

I bought this fancy Bluetooth-controlled LED light. I just used the iPhone app to set it to cycle continiously through all seven or so colors. Then I turned the rest of the lights off.

This is my happening and it freaks me out!

I don't know if I'm more appalled about Baltimore or Nepal.

This was me all day. Plus, just before I went to bed I got some push-back on the Baltimore related links I was posting on Facebook.

Unfortunately for me, I have a group of friend that know me from when we were serving in the Army as MPs. Most of them are still in law enforcement and definitely not sympathetic to the anger over police violence against black people.

I watched my many worlds collide as the majority of my left-leaning friends engaged with that particular group.

I may have lost a few, and that makes me sad, but not sadder than the appalling state of racial violence makes me.

one of the speakers asked that we think about the driver, and I hadn't even thought of that. How terrible would that be??

My mom used to commute on Amtrak and knew the conductors and engineers. It really, really fucks them up. Suicide, sure, but from their end they killed someone, and often saw it coming but couldn't stop it. Awful.

I was very careful of my convos at work. Partly because I don't want to learn something to make me respect them a shitton less. Partly because I wanted to be all fuck all y'all, I'm going to North&pennsy.

If you all are looking for a way to help out Baltimore, can I put a plug in for Moveable Feast? They have effectively lost their volunteer workforce this week but still manage to get meals out to all of their clients (low income folks living with critical illnesses). Their executive director made sure all of their drivers felt safe and comfortable delivering meals today and they were able to serve everyone. The federal agencies in bmore couldn't even manage to stay open all day due to rumors and fear. So, here's the link to my fundraising page:

A lot of you have donated already, so, thank you!!! The city has pulled our permits for the Sunday part of the Ride so we're having to do a lot of scrambling to figure out logistics but, the important thing is, we're still able to raise the money to help Moveable Feast keep doing the work they do.

Well, fuck, lisah. My friends' wedding is moving 2 hrs earlier, and no Hampden crawl as planned for post, but that's nothing in comparison.

This isn't the answer . Occupation isn't the answer. Community and reform is.
