Punishingly Intricate

If you all are looking for a way to help out Baltimore, can I put a plug in for Moveable Feast? They have effectively lost their volunteer workforce this week but still manage to get meals out to all of their clients (low income folks living with critical illnesses). Their executive director made sure all of their drivers felt safe and comfortable delivering meals today and they were able to serve everyone. The federal agencies in bmore couldn't even manage to stay open all day due to rumors and fear. So, here's the link to my fundraising page:

A lot of you have donated already, so, thank you!!! The city has pulled our permits for the Sunday part of the Ride so we're having to do a lot of scrambling to figure out logistics but, the important thing is, we're still able to raise the money to help Moveable Feast keep doing the work they do.

Well, fuck, lisah. My friends' wedding is moving 2 hrs earlier, and no Hampden crawl as planned for post, but that's nothing in comparison.

This isn't the answer . Occupation isn't the answer. Community and reform is.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My "1 pkg" of strawberries turned out to be a full pound. Nice surprise. And yum.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My mother once gave me directions that included, "Turn where the tree used to be."

I have a friend whose very woo mother will say things like "Turn when you feel purple."

I need to make donations today. This is my reminder.

I feel like I give directions like that ("where the tree used to be", not "where you feel purple" which seems hard to tie to geography) but I couldn't think of any examples. Will give my mom directions like "turn towards where we had lunch that time" when I'm riding with her. Internal directions at work, though, are full of things like "over by where A used to sit" or "C's old office". If I end up moving to the other site I won't know where anything used to be, I'll constantly be getting lost.

Strawberries and cream:

As I may have mentioned (because I mention everything) I lost my work-specific coffee cup. Not that there was anything particularly special about it, it's just a purple mug I picked up at last year's sample sale and kept at my desk. I've actually spotted one just like it on a co-worker's desk holding his scissors - he probably bought one at the same time I did but I'm going to ask him just in case mine drifted over there somehow.

Anyway, my point was supposed to be that I have brought in my Troy and Abed in the Morning mug and I feel a little weird about it. First,it's a little more openly fannish than I usually am at work although probably no one will notice. But mostly, no Troy this season, feels a little wrong to break out the mug.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I feel like Boston is the land of giving directions by what used to be there -- to the point that when I first moved back, literally before I got into my new apartment, I had to ask a stranger for directions, and they started with "By where Planet Hollywood used to be" (or maybe it was the Hard Rock Cafe? Now I forget...).
