Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Ow. Apparently between the pole dancing and the running and then the doughnut after the running, my body said "enough!" And I napped for four hours and am very sore all over. Either I'm getting sick or my body was not happy with that sudden sugar influx.

The problem with a nap like that is now Im well awake even though it's nearing bedtime. Also, where is everyone? No posts in four hours? Goodness.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Well, I bought a bag of assorted jewelry at a flea market today to get one thin gold chain to hang my dangerously tiny flash drive on, only to find out that the chain I bought it for is too tight for my neck (even with the fugly 2" extension of big links) and has a non-removable big clunky heart pendant anyway.

Oh well, maybe Mom can find something she likes out of the rest of the cheap-ass jewelry. There is one necklace that has "Mother" on a pendant. And there's a jingly keychain thing that my cats should be able to play with without risk of harm.

I'm having rice pudding for late night after Sunday work dinner. Just about perfect for this hour.

edit: This is the first time I've had rice pudding. Housemate was inspired to cook. I'm still not a fan of raisins.

I didn't know you went to BU, lisaH! Or if I did, it fell out of the back of my brain....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Vacation is going well so far -- shredded a bunch of stuff, watched some Intervention... I borrowed my mom's shredder, and OMG, it is so much better than mine! I kind of forgot how truly crappy mine is. Also found a gift card to Crate & Barrel, so that's fun.
