'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yikes, flea!

Oy, Flea.

Just found out a semi annoying family from the dojo moved into our complex yesterday and the mom is already pinging me about doing things together. Kinda glad I'm off to SLC for a couple of days.

Dear felow passenger, hanging in the waiting area, did you know they make these magical things that can carry sound directly from your device to your ears? Blasting random YouTube videos is not on. No love, Me.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm trying a chia seed and coconut milk "pudding" for breakfast. If you add pecans it tastes pleasantly of pecans.

I actually think just posting a picture of the Catwoman cupcakes is an excellent response.

Probably would work in many more situations, too.

That's a lot of to wake up to, flea.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Wow, flea.

Uhg, flea.

It's becoming increasingly clear to me why so many IT projects here are implemented at a glacial pace; I'd always assumed it was because of security reqs but finding more that they don't really understand the concept of a test cycle. More of an endless development and firefighting phase and everyone cross fingers and pray. This is really, really painful. My team is about ready to kill them.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Back when I was part of usability at my last job.one of our tasks was to explicitly make sure usability was covered during the software development lifecycle. So I studied the documentation on the SDLC we'd been given, disagreed massively with my boss, and in the end, the group we gave it to?

Said they didn't use a formal lifecycle. Take a moment and look back on the most recent things you've been dinged for, and...

And just after I posted, 3 weeks into the test cycle, I just received a RFC on a draft requirements testing doc in which some of the items that need to be tested are "not working yet" in the doc.

This was supposed to be stable in test (not still figuring out reqs in dev!!) a week from today. It's slipped a month, I expect it will slip more (our side is done, tested and working. However it's contingent on theirs being stable and functional.)

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

paging Kate P: I finally boxed up the costumes that N & G have grown out of (pirate, knight, doctor, police officer) and would love to send them. Can you send me your address so I can post them?

Insent, Kat, and thank you!
