We call it staff appreciation day here. So far, I have gotten an Amazon gift card and a lunch bag (firm gift) and fudge.
I feel a little bad about the fudge, because I think I inadvertently guilted someone into giving me something, but I will still eat it.
I'm sorry, tommyrot. That's a rotten kind of anniversary.
I am cheering myself up by practicing scales on my mini MIDI guitar.
Playing a musical instrument has always been a great stress-release for me. I dunno why I stopped. Did I mention I bought an electric bass guitar? A $130 pawn shop special. It's a lot of fun learning to play.
Thanks for all the support, everyone.
Yay musical instruments!
And senioritis? Maybe? I think I feel positively towards that. Better than a lot of itises, anyway.
I think I overheard someone say something about Administrative Professionals Day earlier. I think last year my boss did give me a little something, but that was a different boss and current boss is out sick anyway. I don't think what I do is really administrative, in any case, but it's hard to tell what words mean in a corporate setting anymore.
Maybe I will mow my lawn in honor of Earth Day. Although it seems more fitting to not mow my lawn, kind of. It's definitely getting unkempt looking. Hm.
It's snowing.
Just a few scattered flakes. It's 39 and windy here in Highland Park.
This guy whose computer I just worked on was saying "I'm 56 years old, I didn't grow up with computers like you tech people." For a change, I did not say "I'm only 2 years younger than you, and I'm supporting your inexperienced ass, and I grew up in a rural area that didn't see computers in school till I was in high school." But I thought it. A lot.
Although it seems more fitting to not mow my lawn, kind of.
That seems about right.
I HAVE SENIORITIS
Hee.
I have so much fucking work to get done before my vacation, but I don't wanna! Bleh.
