I just got home after THE MOST BORING DAY I have had in a while.
Now I'm having a glass of wine while I pay bills, because Friday, even though I'm going out to dinner with a pal in an hour.
The rest of the weekend will involve freelancing, and the theater, and somewhere in there hanging with Dad.
I figured that since I'm only walking a 5K tomorrow, rather than running a marathon, I have no justification to carb-load tonight. But we did have stir-fry* with crispy tofu over rice, and that rice is plenty carby.
I'm going to try to go to bed early, since I'm getting up tomorrow WAY earlier than I normally get up, but I doubt I'll actually fall asleep early. The weather is going to be gorgeous tomorrow, and I'm still not thrilled with the fact that we have to walk a wooded trail, but at least it'll be a pretty day.
I'm slightly nervous about it, but mostly excited, with a LARGE dash of appalled at needing to get up so early. I am going to sleep in SO LONG on Sunday.
*(Archer fans: Stir Friday.)
So I finally made it to dinner, and while we were at the restaurant, the power went out. Fortunately, we already had our food, so we finished eating and scurried out to the car in the rain.
Then we got to make the drive home of a few miles in flooded streets. Not fun. Obviously I should have listened to the universe and stayed home.
Stir Friday! Totally should be a thing.
Oh my goodness, Dana. Glad you made it home okay, anyway.
Hooray for beer and cupcakes and ice cream and burgers and shakes and wine!
My brain kinda wants to drink and drink, but my body is all "wanna see how fast I can go to sleep?" Not sure how this'll play out.
I remembered to buy cat food on the way home, so now I won't run out after I feed them tomorrow morning, so I celebrated by buying ginger molasses cookie ice cream.
I may put the bourbon on the ice cream.
I may put the bourbon on the ice cream.
Report back if you do this. For science!
Well now I have to, since it is for science.

There's a newly discovered passage that was cut from an early draft of A Wrinkle In Time. [link]
I think I would have preferred them separately, but it was still mighty tasty.
Science FTW.
