Strix, I'm reading between the lines that you are okay, yes? Any damage was to the car?
Side note: the reports I was waiting to be updated on Friday are still not available. The report I prepare that depends on those reports is supposed to go out today. Awesome. Not explodey car awesome, but still.
I'm glad the explosion was one you could walk away from, Strix.
In other news, I may have a job. They're going to do a background check and, depending on how long that takes, I might be able to start work in a week or two. The pay's a big step down from my previous position, but it's a big step up from what I'm making now (diddly, with occasional squat). It'll be building Coursera courses for a nearby university. I interviewed for it last week, and I got to meet many of the people with whom I'll be working. They seem pretty nice and laid back.

Sorry about the car, Strix, but glad to hear you were able to walk away from it.
And congratulations Calli!
Glad to hear it, Calli! Hooray income, and nice, laid back co-workers!
Yay, income Calli! Even if not quite what you might've hoped for--I hope there's other pluses like location or possible future raises or it's less time or something?
Not to make light of your predicament, Strix, but I am picturing you walking away in slow motion from your car as it explodes.
I am totally picturing this now too!
Thanks, y'all! Some income aside, the pluses include interesting work, something to put in my resume so I don't show an entire year of unemployment, and not having to pay for all my health insurance. There's also a solid chance I'll be able to work from home a two or three days a week after I get settled, and while I'm looking forward to getting out and about a bit, I'm sure my inner introvert will eventually be in favor of that.
Great to hear, Calli! Woot!
