Wash: Well, I wash my hands of it. It's a hopeless case. I'll read a nice poem at the funeral. Something with imagery. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross...

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

That makes me feel better, meara.

I don't even know why I flipped my headlights on, it wasn't that overcast and it was raining, so it's not like I was obeying the windshield wiper law.

Still, I borrowed the charger from work that you can plug into an outlet just in case the drive home wasn't enough of a recharge.

In other, good, news, I lost my wallet at lunch the other day. Realized on my way back to work, went back to Wendy's, checked the parking lot and asked inside, no dice. Crap. Called mum to tell her to cancel the credit card we share. Was about to call my bank to cancel my own cards when I got a text from work from a gentleman who'd found my wallet. Turned around again and went back to Wendy's and got my wallet back, short only one (emergency) card. Phew! I was having horrid visions about having to get a new license, how to get cash in the interim, canceling work's Home Depot CC, etc.

Such a huge relief.

Punishingly Intricate

I have a screening call on Friday for a job I applied for Monday, after agonizing over the contents of the cover letter for a week. This was the one where they asked for a salary range which I completely forgot to add. Ha! I expect it will come up Friday.

Nice one, Arthur Chu. Ties together a lot of stuff I have been idly thinking about much more coherently than I could. That's always nice when someone else makes sense of my thoughts for me.

Good luck, lisah!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Have hit the "sick of matzah and related foods" part of Passover.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Nice! As soon as possible in the conversation, ask them what the range is -- see if you can beat them to the punch.

Not me! Looking forward to my pastrami on matza dinner, in fact.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Have hit the "sick of matzah and related foods" part of Passover.

You and me both. I'm not quite at "I would cut a bitch for a bagel", but I'm way beyond "thank god I eat kitniyot or I wouldn't have made it this far."

Arthur Chu continues to be great, this time about the Hugos, and in the process teaching me stuff about the Washington Monument!

Nice! Four for you, Arthur Chu.

We had a brief window today where it almost was sunny, but the fog wasn't having that at all and it rolled back in even harder. It's cold and there's no visibility, so I think it's an excellent night for me to go home and do nothing but eat leftovers and catch up on TV.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

CBS's story on the first full-time woman NFL official began with the fact that she is a wife and mother of three. It went on to say that, counting her day job, she now has three full-time jobs.

Aargh.
