Oh, shit. I need goals for this quarter. I totally forgot about that.
In how bad taste would it be to set up a pass-the-hat on GoFundMe or someplace to beg very politely for some help with that?
Not in bad taste at all. I think you should do it.

That makes sense, Theo. I guess for all three that isn't so bad, but my mental sense of what things cost is stuck in the 80s or 90s so everything always sounds expensive to me.
Asking for help seems okay to me. That's a not insignificant sum you spent on a compassionate cause. I don't know the practicality of those things, but it doesn't seem in poor taste to me (especially if you can do it without alerting Minet's mom that it's happening, just because it would probably make her feel bad)
In a hot tub, I might add.
Better or worse? (I am asking msbelle)
OK, have applied for Financial analyst position (internal online application process is not too stupid) and notified my boss that I was doing so. HR tells me it's a "lateral move" paywise - I've got a 1% raise in my salary requirements because I rounded up. But I would require that to move.
Not sure I would take this job if offered, frankly. It's a longer commute, which would have to be by car I think, and I know very few people at that site. I can't tell from the description if the job would be a better fit for me and my education or not. But I figure keeping in practice with interviewing when I don't really need (or maybe want) the job is probably good. We'll see what happens.
Man, I like the taste of horseradish. Nom nom nom.
THAT WAS A DREAM IMPOSTER.
Theodosia, I don't think it is in poor taste at all to ask for a bit of help when you are in a bind, especially since you used so much of your own resources to help an animal and a person who were also in a bind.
What the hell, the Reds just scored their first run of the year on a balk. Not the most dramatic way to start the season.
But Johnny Cueto pitched his 1,000th strikeout, so that's pretty excellent. And the 1990 Nasty Boys were the grand marshals of the Opening Day parade, which makes me feel pretty damn old.
Oh, good. My aunt and uncle are not spending the entire week in Chicago because the weather is supposed to be crappy. And I had to reassure my aunt that casual clothes are completely fine to visit my office. She doesn't realize how hilarious it is that she's asking if casual clothes are okay. Our dress code is, like, maybe don't show up in your pajamas unless it's pajama day.

Gotta be better than what's happening in Milwaukee. Of which I know nothing, except that my sister is posting on FB asking about slaughter rules for opening day.
We've got a rain delay, but it looks like it'll blow over. But the Reds are ahead 2-0 (after the score on a balk, Jay Bruce hit a home run, which was nice), so I feel pretty good about it so far.
