I think I'm going to have to throw out nearly all the spices in the kitchen. I know they have a shelf life, and I don't remember when they were bought.
edit: plus I can't reach the shelf most of them are on, stupid foot-taller-than-me husband creature.
Paprika has a flavor?! /only ever used it as a garnish
Quite a lot, especially the smoked. Needs to not be too old, though, it does lose flavor with age. That's a general rule with ground spices though.
ETA: Xpost!
Like Tep says, the TJ's smoked Paprika is very flavorful.
It's funny to me that Buffistas are (a) the kind of people who generally don't ask for extensions; but are also (b) the kind of people may never return their library books.
Lawful good students; chaotic neutral readers?
The funniest library book I never found was "Practical Magic"--Guess it disappeared!
I drop the cayenne in basically everything. Partly because toddler, but wife is also a weakling, and you can always add hot sauce or spice at the table.
Cumin, on the other hand, I use what the recipe calls for and sometimes more
That is a vital flavor for texican food.
I love paprika and cumin. Mmm.
I am sad I did not clean up at the Zappos outlet yesterday, but my sister totally did (Frye boots for $50? Tsubo heels for $10?). We were in Louisville and I was very tempted to keep driving and head to Nashville and meet yall!
Timelies all!
Much grocery shopping today, both the regular weekly run and a Passover run at the local kosher supermarket.
We're driving up to Ossining today to look at two potential houses. I'm very mixed about it - on the one hand, the Hudson valley is gorgeous and we'll be able to afford a lot more space. On the other hand, moving to the suburbs feels kind of like admitting defeat. But on the other other hand, Brooklyn has betrayed us by getting so dang expensive! And the houses both look gorgeous on paper.
Aww, meara you were so close!
