Head pats, teacher/grading folk. It sounds difficult and obnoxious.

I am flying back to Indiana tomorrow. But didn't get the things I needed to done today. Boo. So I'll be doing work thurs/fri when I should be on vacation. (I mean, I won't take the vacation days, but I'd rather).

I'm flabbergasted that someone would not know the Oxford comma. But not know it when you're applying for a tech writer position?? My GOD, if that's who they give an interview to, who applied that they DIDNT decide to interview????

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow, lisah. Amazeballs.

Also sarameg although I guess I should not be surprised anymore that your days are like that.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

HA! Oh Gris, I laugh because I AM THIS. Spring Break has just started for me, and Future Pix is already giving Present Pix the stinkeye.

Future Pix is quite the go-getter, never putting off until tomorrow the stinkeye she could give today.

Yesterday, I was able to make coffee without hardly thinking, no problems. Today, not so much.

But now I have coffee.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

lisah, if knowing what the Oxford comma is would get me a job at your company, I would apply. I'd probably answer that question with, "It has its place."

Eeep! That one catches me up nearly every time; I really have to think about it. What can I say, I'm drinking oolong instead of black tea--less caffeine.

Punishingly Intricate

My GOD, if that's who they give an interview to, who applied that they DIDNT decide to interview????

I KNOW, RIGHT?! We did interview someone who seemed pretty great so I'm encouraging the hiring manager to make him an offer ASAP.

Our wings are not tired.

So, I was interviewing someone for a tech writer position today and, when I asked his opinion of the Oxford comma, he responded "is that the comma with the dot over it?"

That just makes my day. No rage here, just laughter.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I would consider giving someone a pass on "Oxford comma" because maybe they know it as a different name, but THINKING IT MIGHT BE A SEMICOLON??? That's beyond the pale.
