Zen, is it too late for whoever is doing the emergency hotel booking at your office to look at boutique hotels? I don't know if they're more or less likely to be filled up than the big chain ones, but I'm betting places like the one I stayed for the Washington F2F aren't super obvious for casual visitors.
Steph, it sounds like the snacks ringleader should take the cross of family burdens he's bearing and split it up to sell as cordwood.

Zen, also, there are some small places in DC - the only ones that come to mind are the Windsor Inn (on 16th Street, NW) and an Adams Morgan bed and breakfast type place on Lanier Street, NW.
Ugh Steph. I've been battling clothing moths for a couple of years. They're not a swarm, but I think they're gone and I'll find some in the spare room closet or the basement. Bastards.
Tim vacuumed like crazy last night, although we need to check the closet this weekend. (I don't think I have anything wool in the closet, because wool makes me itch. However, apparently they like dark places, so I'm braced to find them in the closet.)
