A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's on him for sure, but I've been there and she will make all these fattening, calorie-filled dishes every night. She won't stop buying cookies and candy either "for guests."

Ugh. On a less-serious level, I am reminded of my one college roommate who knew I wanted to lose weight, but just happened to have treats hot and waiting when I got home from class.

So my mother is starting what I guess is essentially chemo on Thursday for a non-cancer problem. She's going to be at the hospital for five hours. Any idea what she should expect to feel like?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

meara, I'm reading the latest InCryptid, too.

I finished it Sunday. Good stuff, as usual.

I got about 70% through last night and then fell asleep. And slept terribly, and then when I hit snooze, had an awful nightmare about this horrible TINO of a dude I had to work with on my last project--I dreamt that he was somehow both my boss AND in my house, and it was horrid.

Best of luck to your mom, Jesse!

There are many kinds of chemo. Nausea is a possibility. Probably lethargy if they're using the really aggressive drugs.

Aw, Jesse. I hope it takes care of whatever and she bounces back fast. (And is gentle to herself until she does.)

Thanks! She's going in once a week for a month or something, so we'll see and hope this does it!

Yeah, I wish I had any idea what the actual treatment is! But either of those sounds likely....

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Best of luck to your mom, Jesse. Hope it doesn't treat her too harshly.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Yeah, I feel like in a situation where one person cooks for the family and a family member has dietary restrictions, the designated cook should accommodate. It's just basic courtesy.

A high school friend posted about how Spirit's new marketing campaign: [link] is just striking her wrong with it's juvenile sexual innuendo. I'm so glad she posted because I was able to score 2 tix between LA and Cleveland to see my dad whose health is declining for $69 RT. Thanks for your outrage, friend, because it helped me find cheap tix at literally 1/8 the usual price.
